My grandfather was a mason I forgot which degree though. He never did anything weird or wasn't a senator,congressman,etc.. He was in a secret society in college though.

I believe my great-uncle was a Freemason. They really aren't as hyped up as the movies make them out to be. It's basically a society just like any other frat you might come in contact with, although the Masons do have a very colorful past.

I think I'm being invited to join. Wanted to know what was up.

It sounds pretty laid back, I mean there are the people that say they control the world/economy but they say that about jews, the illuminati, reptilians, ect.

And if they do control the world, they are doing a pretty shitty job, imo.

A basic rule of Freemasonry is that you can't invite someone to join.

I thought you had to be asked to join, but I don't really know that much about the masons.

I don't think they're an evil NWO conspiracy, though.

It is the opposite actually. You have to ask a Mason how to join.

Maybe you've seen the bumper sticker that reads: 2B1ASK1 (w/ the 'A' as a square and compass)?

Exactly, Freemasonry doesn't recruit or proselytize. If someone wants to join they talk to a mason and things go from there. Masonry does not evangelize.

My great-grandfather was a free-mason, unfortunately I know nothing about him other than he was a butcher. I plan on joining a little further down the road when I actually have something to offer the organization other than a struggling student in debt.

Well, the Freemason's are involved in a lot of charity work. Not to mention you also have the Shriners that operate a number of non-profit hospitals.

My grandfather was also a Freemason and Shriner.
