I was looking for a pda software (that would work on Palm OS 5) that could do what this site does:
http://www.round12boxing.com/timekeeper.htm
Just a timer with the option of a rest period between each count. I found medidation timers, photo timers, cooking timers, but not a single boxing like timer... anyone knows one?

I dont know of anything like that. are you looking for timers or a heavy bag workout in general that calls of combos?

if you are i ripped my bas rutten workout into my pda and itouch to use cause the workouts are in the form of rounds

My intention was just using a timer that I could set a rest period, so that I could work 3 or 2 minute rounds in the heavy bag and set a one minute or 30 seconds break until it started counting again. I'm currently using a mp3 song set to the time but if I want to change the settings (the number of rounds, the rest period) I have to upload another.

But that workout you mentioned sounds interesting, can you share it with me?

sure.

all i did was take the bas rutten workout cd (it has options for boxing, thai boxing, mma, all around workouts) and i ripped it into my itunes so i could put it on my itouch.

the cd is pretty cool cause each cd has two tracks:
1. 2 minute rounds with 1 minute rest
2. 3 minute rounds with 1 minute rest

over the course of the round, they are calling out combos at a pretty good pase. its a killer workout. you can use it to shodowbox, hit the heavybag or i have been using a partner and doing it on thai pads.

I want in on that action to. I'm mostly self trained and could use the motivation of being told what to do instead of winging it all the time.

Anna:

What is steel compared to the hand that weilds it?

Is that a quote from Thulsa Doom (played by James Earl Jones) in the first Conan: The Barbarian movie?

Check this **** out. It is the coolest timer I have ever found. Does everything the big boxing timers do and it clips on your pants or whatever. Small, light, cheaper than the bullshit you will find anywhere else. I would recommend this to anyone that needs anything similar.

You can set one or two times (like work/rest) with up to 99 rounds, set it to vibrate, vibrate and sound, vibrate and loud sound (pretty loud), use beeping or bell sounds, makes you sandwiches while you workout... resistance is futile :new_borgs

That sounds good, US$19.99 isn't too expensive but I have great fear of our customs. If I can't find one here I'll give this one a try.

Thanks for the tip!

It comes packaged like a little cheapo toy so hopefully it wouldn't be to bad with customs, I don't really know how that stuff works though.

Does the package comes with a logo or it's just an ordinary box?
Out customs tax 60% of the value of the purchase. But it's up to chance wether they pick the item for taxing of not, fortunetly it never happened to me since I buy mostly books (no taxing) at amazon or at shops like dealextreme that send as gifts.
If I can't find a similar here, I'll buy it anyway and just hope for the best.

If I remember right, it came to me in a small plain brown box. I guess they wouldn't actually open the package huh?

This is really good **** right there. I own one and I love it. I've also downloaded a bunch of different intervals in mp3 format that I can mix on top of my fav music (motorhead/metallica/godsmack). I haven't had the time to do it, but basically, I could loop my favorite songs in my ipod with a "BEEP" going off every 20/10 sec interval, or any interval for that matter.
