It seems that some of the fighters in this show don't belong. Some of the fighters on this show are so bad at fighting it seems that they have no business on the show. Does anyone here think there is some reason for this? Why do they put low talent fighters on that show? Is it good TV to watch them lose? Please post your thoughts if you would like.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. It seems that they know who they want to do good and they want to put some people in there to make sure they get where they are going. I also notice that they put some people in there that have certain personality types. Have you noticed that Junie has calmed down a whole lot in the season?

I would love to see the thought process to see who gets on and who doesn't. And how do they decide who gets to fight who in that first show?

That's a great point. Perhaps the people on the show do belong afterall. They are not picked for fighting talent. They are picked for the ability to be morons and keep the show entertaining, similar to most VH1 shows. All the show needs is a few out of work strippers, and female MMA personalities.

TUF is a "reality" TV program. Every such program, whether it is a competition show like Top Chef or Dancing With The Stars, or a Real World-style show in which you just watch personalities clash has suckers and ringers. Suckers suck, ringers are favored to win. If TUF only had good fighters, it wouldn't be nearly so interesting. Obviously, hardcore fans of the sport find the man-drama annoying, but hardcore fans of the sport cannot keep a fighting promotion alive. That's the whole point of TUF, to bring in the rubes.
