it's a good loss for faber. Not to say that he was slacking, which he certainly wasn't, but this will drive him all the more to become an even greater fighter. He's still very young, and has lots of space to develop, in particular with his striking game. GSP never looked so good until he came back from the beating Serra laid on him the first time. faber's gonna get better and it's gonna be scary. In related news, godDAMN did garcia hit hard. I could feel thowe shots just watching, just HEARING them. Jens can take a punch, but those were some monster shots.

Out of curiosity, did anyone see the undercard? My cable guide said the show was running from 9-11. I turned it on at 9 and they were already up to the Sonnen/Filho fight. I'm assuming it actually started an hour earlier....
I was really surprised by the two fights I saw. Filho/Sonnen for being so lackluster ( I was really hoping for a balls to the wall grudge match, but Filho imo just didn't seem to have his hear tin it), and Faber/Brown for being so....quick.

I really like Faber, but I LMAO when Brown caught him.
Faber definitely needs to train his combinations.

It started at 8. I think it was probably scheduled for 9 but then it would have conflicted with TUF.
Leonard Garcia, 1st round tko of Jens Pulver. Where are all of the Bullshido posters that said Garcia was a pushover?
Garcia is a Lamb that is being fed to Pulver.
I liked Garcia from the first fight i saw him in against Huerta. At the time I knew he wasn't right at 155.

Faber would've easily won it if he just stuck to basic strikes. He just came in a little too confident.
I don't know. Bad timing is bad timing. I am not saying it was a luclky shot, but it wasn't exactly a set up either.

Well.. there wasn't much Faber could throw in that position. After watching the replay, it seemed like Faber may have overestimated his speed.
I don't think Faber thought Brown was there waiting to counter his move. It really caught him by surprise. It could have been luck on Brown's part or Faber not making his move faster
I dont think it was luck. Brown looked pretty damn strong, and Uriah.. didnt seem to able to get any dominating strikes going/build confidence.

That flying elbow looked like a kind of wild, almost cocky move. Now, I say that with hindsight, but he probably should have regrouped a little better when he got caught the first time. Actually, he should have done what he did when Jens caught him the fight before. The thing that is going to make it tough for Faber is that now everyone is going to smell blood in the water, so Garcia is going to want a piece of him ASAP.
Jens looked like better days were behind him. He needs a new camp, someone to take him to the next level, if he expects to continue. Doing the same **** over and over is gets the same results. I felt bad for him more than Faber.
