Im doing my first competition , I mean as a competitor since the 80s ,

Its the Grand Champions International Karate Cup on Sunday Nov 2nd. in NYC.

Im entered in BB over 35 Kata , Team Kata and Kumite . WKF modified rules.

Its been along time since since Ive competed and honestly im more nervous about the Kata

competitions than the Kumite.

Im doing Bassai Dai in the Individuals and Jion in the Team. As far as Kumite goes , Im

never nervous about that , go figure. And there is supposedly some real good fighters.

I figure at 50 whats the worst that could happen , I get my butt kicked LOL.

Wouldn't it be funny if the karate you've been doing for the past twenty years has been worthless and you didn't know it because you never competed? Funny for me I mean. Obviously that would be devastating for you.

well if you ever read any of my posts you would know that while I havent competed in the ring in 20 years , I have won each and every encounter where it counted , arresting bad ass motherfuckers who have nothing to lose by kicking my ass or killing me or going to prison.

So im confident my Karate works ,are you that confident. remember BJJ matches still has rules . Out in the mean streets there is no second place trophy. :booty:

Non of that matters , its a Karate tournament that has rules , there are no eye goughing , no groin strikes , so if you think Kumite and real combat are alike , good like.

I just got the bug , I dunno , The dojo hosts a really big tournament each year and even though I joined this particular Dojo in July , its a good Dojo for Competition (WKF) and I figured it would be cool.

Well, it sounds like you've already won plenty of competitions more important than this one so do you really need me to say good luck? Good luck anyway.
