MMA is the best way to test styles, we all know that (except for the n00bs, but they aren't real people) but it has nice things like rounds, seconds, the one on one factor, and the fact that if I walked around in boxers for a fight on t3h str33t I'd get more girls than fights. personally, i think all marcial arts are usefull

marcial arts in general does teach about self-defence, but i think it's mostly about threat assessment (sorry, sp ?) and tactics.

My mother toungue is spanish and in spanish it is marcial (with a C), but what really troubles me is that that was the only thing you seem to have noticed about my post.
You know when you have to resolve to name calling and spelling mistakes you pretty much have no argument whatsoever. But still, thank you for pointing out the shortcomings of my post, i apreciate the positive criticism.


now, on to the real discution:
I have to agree with tonuzaba here, MMA and UFC are really fun to watch and all, but they are far from real life battles. I doubt if i get jumped by a couple of guys they'll:
1) make sure i'm ready to go before i fight
2) fight with me for three sets of five minutes
3) if the fight is unresolved after 15 minutes, some random guy (who's been watching the whole fight) will make a ruling as to declare one of us the winner.

4) of course, all of this is when i get mugged by ONE assailant (sp ?), because in the real world, you'll never get jumped by two guys at the same time, and since that is a totally impossible scenario, it is totally safe to bring the fight to the ground.

don't get me wrong, UFC is fun and entertaining, hell I like K1 also, but everything has it's limitations.

You say you believe all martial arts are useful. No. Sure excercise is good but the side benefits are outweighed by believing in something that is worthless. Examples are Yellow bamboo, No touch ko's, chi balls and anything else some tard got from a cartoon and tried to make money out of.

I wrote that because there wasn't much to say about your post. Yes, find a guy with a gun/knife unless you have gun or knife you're pretty fucked. You really didn't say anything on a Most Useless Martial Art at all, you post to me was insignificant aside from in a Martial Arts Forum you misspelled Martial.

Honestly, there are a lot of arts and schools that suck way beyond the alloted sucking leeway so I disagree with you.
