I have been told that I can't believe in the Bible because I put my martial arts and fitness first in my life. Therefore, I'm not a Christian, I am a martial artist. My wife calls me obsessed. So what are you gonna do!!

I know what I'm not going to do, I'm not going to get on one of these religious threads any more. One because that is not why I am on this site. And two because people are too damn sensitive.

Hey, personally I don't mind these threads. My debating skills have gotten better because of them.

It's the skepticism forum. You're supposed to start threads critical of the paranormal in it. (religion = paranormal claim par excellence.)

This goes out to anyone that believes in belief (like zapruder). What form does you BIB take. Do you believe in god yourself and justify it on terms on how good it is for you (in other words, the objective truth of the matter is irrelevant.) Or do you disbelieve but think that others should believe because it is good for society?

I certainly agree that belief is good for society. But I believe because it is also good for me, fits my upbringing, and social environment. I wonder all the time what would have happened if I would have been born into a Muslim family. Would I have believed what I was raised into, and think of people such as myself are wrong. Or wold have done research and come to a different conclusion.

I had a college professor one time that that was actually a Presbyterian preacher in town. He taught that all religions are the same with just different names. I thought it was interesting at the time. But I know now that it is fundamentally wrong.
