Really? Oh man, that changes things. I was thinking about going elsewhere - but Vie is properly awesome. The amount of mini-tourneys and BBQs Cesar organises to keep the club together - it really feels like a team, rather than a disparate group of people kicking each others' asses.
Hmm.
Why did you want to go elsewhere?
Because Ladbroke Grove does morning lessons and morning lessons are the only way I can sneak in four training sessions a week - my girlfriend gets all sad otherwise. It's all moot this week because of the tube strike and the fact that I've got flu anyway, so I'll make up my mind for good on Monday.
Right I've signed up for the Wednesday Muay Thai class and hopefully, work permitting I'll start the BJJ too. I can't believe this gym is so close and I missed it (face... meet palm), but still, I'm looking forward to getting back into training. Looks like a good gym.
Give me a shout if you're coming down to the BJJ mate and I'll be sure to introduce myself. Only, don't call me Asriel in real life ok? :)
Eh? But my real name is BigKovacs...
Nice one mate, I'll let you know when I start. I'm a total novice to BJJ so I won't be in your group but I'll be sure to say hi. Looks like a good club.
Well I missed the MT class last week by a country mile but I'm trying to get to the beginners BJJ class tonight. Do you know roughly what a novice class may entail?
normally a general warm-up, possibly some drilling, a new technique or two to practice with your partner and then position specific sparring.
