Why are you so curious? Anyway, in all seriousness I jerk on the go.

I always have, and always will detest "rasslin".

This is something that goes back to my childhood, in the days before they were legally obliged to call it "sports entertainment"... when 90% of the moron fans actually really did think it was real, no matter how much they protest to the contrary now.

The whole idea of a work is just anathema to what wrestling, or any combat sport, should be about IMO.

Well of course it wasn't real...but the drama sure was! And when little known Sean Waltman first stepped in the ring with big-time bad-ass The Razor Ramon, everyone knew just who was gonna get Razor's Edged and be spit out. But no, Waltman comes flying out with this pre-Lucha Libre inverted flip off the corner buckle and took down the Razor in the first high-flying stunt! Ramon was so cocky he hadn't even seen it coming and was knocked flat! Sean's simply surprised it worked and he's stumbling about the ring, wondering where Ramon went to and now he sees him! He sees that Ramon is out and he flops down onto the Razor's lifeless husk of a body! The ref is in there and he's counting and yes!! He's done it the rookie Sean from out of nowhere has defeated Razor Ramon! I. Don't. Believe. It. Ladies and gentlemen, this is most likely the biggest upset in WWF history. Across the stadium now people are chanting, it seems they already want to have a nickname for this man who until less than a minute ago was practically unknown. And the crowd is getting louder...I can make out..yes, it seems they are chanting: the 1-2-3 Kid!

Brock has a better chance than many are giving him credit for...Randy left HW the first time because he was having problems dealing with huge heavyweights taking him down and beating him down on top. Brock is a HUGE heavyweight who takes people down and beats on them from on top.

And please don't bring up his submission skills. Randy has, what, two wins by submission, the really big guy he choked out in his first UFC match (who, oddly enough, had a stint in the WWF under the name Ludvig Borgia) and the gator choke on Mike Van Arsdale.

If anybody wants to do an Omega/Geordie LaForge style screen name bet on this I'll take Brock.

I wonder if Brock flinches like ***** if someone lands a decent punch on him?

My favorite part of this whole thread is the constant assertion that pro wrestling appeals to uneducated rednecks. As if the majority of MMA fans are f'ing brain surgeons and nuclear physicists. Sorry folks, there's a good deal of white trash making up the fan base of both activities.

I think the amount of rest and game-planning time Randy will have had for this fight will make Brock's weight difference negligible. When Randy's fresh and has time to strategize, I believe he can take anyone in the division. Also, Randy has submission skills (certainly more than Brock), he just prefers to punch people. We also haven't seen any inkling of how good Brock's chin or leg kick defense is, and I think Randy will test both of those.

I may take you up on that SN bet...what are you thinking for it?

Maybe. Or maybe he'll be rusty.

Don't make me say it again...

couture is a wrestler who uses his clinch game and dirty boxing to take people out of their game plans. brock is a big mother fucker who has awesome wrestling and hits like a mack truck. i think randy will use his great head movement to avoid most of brocks punches (which seem to emphasize power too much and are at least a little telegraphed), but it only takes one with brock. then again, no one knows what brocks chin is like, and we know that randy will land at least one of his ducking overhand/right hooks clean, so standing i think it goes to couture, with brock getting a huge punchers chance.

on the ground i think it is all brock. the guy moves with the grace of a lw wrestler down there. does anyone really think that a guy outweighed by 60-80lb at the time of the fight with less athleticism going for him will be able to win the positional battle? brocks ju jutsu sucked in the herring fight and i screamed myself hoarse telling him to put the hooks in when herring turtled and flatten him out, but for all that he never lost top position and was able to hold herring down. randy is a much better wrestler than heath but brocks ju jutsu will be better too, and i dont see randy being able to take brock down except with strikes, in which case i believe he will have already won.

randy by decision if its kept standing, or tko. brock if he gets a clean punch, or tko if it hits the ground. I can't say ever that randy will lose a fight, but damn if i know for sure he'll win it .

Right off the top of my head...I'd probably force the person who bet on Randy to post under the name "Brocksucker" or "Rock out with Your Brock Out" for, let's say, one month? And if Captain America should derail the unstoppable "frayt trene", I'd expect to receive some sort of humiliating/homosexual moniker referencing Randy Couture, or the Natural, or the Ageless Wonder, or whatever nickname he's going by these days.

I believe the standard procedure in these situations is for both parties to PM Phrost with the details and he'll change the names for free. So...you in or out?

If the name changing is free, I'll take that bet.

Sending my PM to Phrost right now. Should Randy lose, you will be posting as "Grab My Brock" and of course you'll have to change your avatar to a picture of Mr. Lesnar.

Fair enough. And if Lesner is to win, you shall be known as 'Ridin' Randy'.

LOL. Not bad...I think I have the perfect pic of "Handy" to use as my avatar if worst comes to worst.

Edit: Talked to Phrost, apparently the system is "Loser has to pay". I'm still good for it if you are.

Didn't mean to intrude. If you want the wager, it's yours, but make sure you come up with something really embarressing for him to change to.

Go for it, I love "Ridin' Randy." I didn't even have anything ready. I'll just have to come up with something really clever about Lyoto.
