Cage Potato has been reporting all day about the situation between KJ Noons and Elite XC which has, apparently, been heating up.
Elite XC wants KJ to fight Nick Diaz again. They have offered KJ a contract for the fight, and KJ has refused to sign it. Elite XC went so far as to give KJ an ultimatum, agree to the fight by 5 pm today, or "face the dreaded “public opinion” as a consequence." Apparently KJ's manager, some douche by the name of Mark Dion (formerly Brandon Vera's manager (actually, maybe he still is Vera's manager, IDK), has responded, basically telling Elite XC to go **** themselves and threatening to hold a press conference if Elite XC doesn't start seeing things his way (I'm assuming they would announce KJ as a "free agent"). Apparently the KJ camp don't feel Diaz should be the #1 contender. They think Eddie Alvarez should get the next shot.
Anyway, there are 3 articles about the situation up here:
Is KJ Noons scared, as Nick so eloquently suggested???
Does anyone give two shits about KJ Noons?
Does anyone give two shits about Elite XC, for that matter?
Anyway, I think the whole thing is fairly funny, thought I'd pass it on and see what you all thought about it.

It sounds like Vince McMahon is writing EliteWC, which is probably why it sucks so much.

Ninja please! Vinnie Mac would have had this play out in a MUCH cooler fashion. Like having hated heel champion KJ hit street smart man of the people Nick with a steel chair and busted his face open, then sign the contract in Diaz's blood before Nate Diaz hit the polygonal cage to make the save, leading up the the shocking swerve where Nate costs Nick the rematch, and then aligns with KJ, saying he is sick of being in Nick's shadow.
Man, if only Mr. McMahon had bought PRIDE instead of the Ferittitas...

Agreed, this is solely the work of Gary Shaw. Fixed fight allegations, drama, speaking in the language of bullshit...it all smacks of a Vince McM lite.

I used to watch KJ fight in ICON when I lived in Hawaii, dude was fearless and he hit like a truck. I seriously doubt he's ducking Diaz. I do however believe that his manager is a douche who is hurting his fighter in the long run by missing a chance to fight a big name on CBS primetime.

He's ducking and has made that abundantly clear.
He doesn't want to fight Nick because he knows he only one due to a lucky cut.

Actually, EliteXC would arguably be in much better shape if they emphasized theatrics and wackiness over pure sport.

And to those dissing Gary Shaw as a Vince McMahon wannabe - he's no longer in a position of power at EliteXC, and was behind many of the decisions that steered EliteXC away from Pro Wrestling style angles.

Did you see the fight? Noons was clearly winning. That "lucky" cut was a result of repeated shots to the face. I'm not claiming that Diaz can't beat him, I'm sure he can and in a rematch quite possibly would. But to claim that Noons is dodging based on the last fight is just silly.

Noons is ducking because Nick is clearly the better fighter.
The fight was stopped between rounds and it was ludicrous to read too much into that.
Diaz is the better fighter, everyone knows that including KJ.

Noons was beating the living **** out of Diaz in the first fight; that doesn't mean he's not ducking Diaz, since now that Diaz has had his cheekbones shaved it's entirely possible he can walk chin-first at Noons for long enough to take him down and sub him. Either way Dion is completely retarded "Yes, we're going to refuse to fight on CBS in front of millions of people because we don't think this guy should be the #1 contender, even though there's literally no one else at this weight in EXC and the guy we claim to want to fight isn't even available"

And the bs rationale is what makes it clear they're ducking.

KJ Noons always struck me as a pompous prick, and this just confirms it.
I've heard that part of the reason of is that he trains out of City Boxing. His whole training camp has the boxing mentality that just because Noons is champ, that he is bigger than EliteXC, and has the right to pick and choose all his fights, and negotiate ridiculous amounts of money.

I think KJ should get his ass in the ring. He won the last one due to a cutor rather three cuts and some would call that a controversial decission. Any decision that ends in controversy should be rematched. Also Nick shouldn't be suach a ***** for loosing the way he left the ring was childish. He needs to grow up and learn to protect his face.

Well, again according to Cagepotato.com, the fight has been officially scrapped.
Thought this was interesting:
Elite XC VP Jared Shaw said the organization was unable to come to terms with Noons’ agent, Mark Dion, and added that throughout the entire process no one from Elite XC was able to personally speak with Noons. Shaw said they wouldn’t be stripping Noons of the lightweight title just yet, but expressed hope that he would “wake up and smell the Hawaiian coffee.”
Looks like KJ is about to be taking an extended vacation. From what I understand Dion (KJ's agent) was at least partly responsible for the BS that kept Brandon Vera out of action for so long, so maybe that's his thing. Call Agent Dion if you want to be out of action for extended periods of time!!!!!!!!!

I wonder what KJ means by extended vacation? It's only been 2 months since his last fight, so that's not a big deal yet. If he doesn't fight again by January he should probably start worrying about being stripped, especially if it's a voluntary layoff and not due to injury.
