Why are a lot of articles posted on this board revolve around picking on tradional styles? Everyone here for the most part has their mind made up in the MMA vs TMA debate. Why must everyone start the same debate over and over again? I think any system of fighting is good if you train hard at it and work out. I come to this board and this ethic doesn't seem valued at all. No tradional martial artist on this board is going to claim to throw chi energy balls at their assailants. No mixed martial artist is going to get in their guard in a bar. I wish we all had more respect for one another's fighting systems. I know this message is going to be totally discarded and the same boring ass arguements are going to be pounded over and over again. But still there is hope.

I'm soooo confused...I mean I think I am a TMA because I don't do ecclectic arts, yet I have cross trained in other martial arts so I guess I am MMA, but I don't fight in the ring or in UFC. Can someone tell me please?

Sorry I didnt mean to clump people who crosstrained with tradional arts with ring fighters. It seems most MMA guys here fight for sport.

I don't how direspect, it;s when ppl come on the boards saying UFC isn;t real, or isn;t real enough (understandable) and crazy stuff, so I like to debate with them, show my opinion that's all.
Why not spend 2 hours and go check a place out and know that you've actually been there and seen it? instead of just what you "hear"
:)
Debate is awesome but sometimes any subject turns into name calling or a huge thread about the same old arguments.

Thats true.... I agree that if anyone trains hard enough in what they do, they could make it effective. Myself, I do Bjj, I train like 6 days a week, about 4 hours eveyday. If I try to compare myself with someone in another art who only trains for 2 days a week, 2 hours each, I should be suprised if I learn more quicker than him, Im just putting more into it.

Choke is correct.
And Blade, you've argued this issue with me, and I've NEVER said that the ufc isn't real or any of that stuff. Sorry to shoot your horse, it was just so damn high...
;)
Also, I think every smart martial artist will know the importance of cross-training, the more you know the better. Know the ground, Take what is useful, Train standup, take what is useful.
For example, If I fight a guy on the ground, Real Fight Mind you, I would not do an armbar by any means, Rear Naked Choke, Yeah, but no Armbar...
Reality, pound the guys face...
Im sure all will agree....
