Hello I am currently looking at new martial arts schools since I have just moved.
So far there are 2 options open to me there is a Jeet Kune Do class being offered real close to my house,the price is right it is twice a week,and the sifu talks well enough to sound knowledgeable.
I admit I do not know much about the lineage of JKD if someone can help me out with some of the names of Bruce Lee's original students and so on it would be really helpful.
The sifu's name is Lance Webb like I said he seems pretty much on the up and up.But in this day and age it is good to check up n anybody.

Sifu Lamar M. Davis II is a legit Bruce Lee JKD guy. Other then that there is not much more to say.

What else you got in that area to try anyway? Take some classes and see what the Bullies think about what they have you do. Lineage only goes so far.

Lineage is meaningless if you don't spar and the teacher sucks. Take a class.

In the end, the JKD lineage wars are even MORE bullshit than the WC/TS/WTF lineage wars cause even fewer people care. JKD is just a method of training.

He has a website that explains his lineage. This lineage explains who his original JKD teacher was.

Another quick search shows who his teacher trained with.


It took me 2 minutes. Go to the school and find out.

You don't need Google to check someone's lineage. It just makes things faster & less personal.

Errant I tried to google Sifu Webb but did not get much further than his own web site.When I asked about lineage he was very quick to answer as a matter of fact I didn't evn ask about lineage just about his background.He didn't balk at all he mentioned the ohter styles he had experience in and even his JKD instructors.
I believe he mentioned Lance Davis but not in direct instruction but as his instructor's instructor.
Now please put in account this talk was over the phone and ppl on average retain 40% of the spoken words in a conversation.I also checked on a school that teaches akki-jujitsu and shorin-ryu karate with an MMa class for 125 a month where I can take all the classes without a contract and might be able to retain my belt from TKD for the TMA.
I do apologize fore the long time it took me to respond to everyone on this thread(new house,new job,new city,getting ahold of my family and friends to see them it has been pretty busy)but I promise to check my net stuff everynight from now on.

can he KickBox ?
can he trap ?
can he grapple ?
can use weapons such as sticks/knives ?
can he spar with the above ?
are his students any good ?
do you trust this guy with your safety ?
does he give you a striaght answer when you ask him about his training ?
