I'm disapointed with the Silva fight. I hoped Irvin would make Anderson have to work for the win for once in his UFC career, instead he was on the receiving end of a highligh-reel worthy knockout in under a minute. That was fucking brutal.

edited to add: Anyone else get sick and fucking tired of hearing Rogan and Goldberg say "best pound-for-pound fighter in the world"?

Oh, and who else knew by early 2nd round that the Vera fight was going to be a snooze-fest? I kept hoping for a breakout but, damn.

The Franca fight was also pretty boring. I mean, they kept working, but Hermes tried maybe 2-3 subs the entire night and the rest of the time allowed little elbows to make his face all puffy. It's like his ring told him "Lay there with your legs wide open but do nothing. You won't win the fight, but you might start a new fashion trend of turning into a freaky haired dough-boy face". The first sub attempt was close, tho'.

Anyone else notice that Silva jumped into orthodox stance right before Irvin threw that kick? That means that (southpaw (http://www.spidersilva.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=45&Itemid=13)) Silva knocked Irvin's block off and pounded him out with his right freakin' hand...

I'd personally really like to see Anderson Silva in LHW for good, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen any time soon.

Went to my first MT class last night - one of the basic technique drills we did was catch the round kick to the ribs and throw a cross. MT 101 indeed, what a nice technique.

I've half a mind to mock up some election badges that say "I Believe In Anderson Silva."
