Point of fact:
Djimbe told me, ON THE PHONE, that a good Wing Chun practitioner was as good a grappler as a good Folkstyle wrestler.

Djimbe never claimed HERE that he was a decent grappler. As far as I know. Just a point of fact.
Shadowofravenwolf,
If that's all you see, then you know dick about grappling.
Oh, I suppose I also had to state the obvious, that D tapped. Again, like I said in trollshido. Since we do not see everything, from begining to end, in an unedited video, we do not know who tapped to who more. What we DON'T see is just as important as what we do see.
Hey fernado, aren't you the guy who works for thorton on his website?

Once again. D&T NEVER claimed that Louis EVER tapped out. So why do you keep saying this?

But grappling is much easier than stand up! With grappling you use predominantly gross muscular movements, not like some of the esoteric CMA's where your fine motor skills come into play.
Where was the bench pressing off the opponent? Or, the grabbing the arms and twisting them like pretzels? I remember reading those techniques were viable against grapplers.

I would have to take your word for that, since I wasn't apart of that conversation.

Wastrel is correct. No mention of Luis tapping, ever.

Shadowofravenwolf,
How old are you? What kind of background do you have? You think "tapping" is the only measure of who was superior? You're ignorant. Just please quit with the grappling commentary. You are embarassing yourself.

Hey Shadowofravenwolf, doesn't it look like Louis taps at :45?

yea...what was he trying to prove being there then?? this smells like it's gonna go down as another one of those 'TMA failed yet again' type thing......

I have some JJJ experience. No expert on grappling, never claimed it.
But what you don't see is who started in what position, plus we do not see ALL the drills.
I also never said that about tapping either, who ever is superior is the one who survives.

You don't have to see who started in what position.
You can see:
SWEEPS
POSTIONAL DOMINANCE
GUARD PASSING

I really don't think any reasonable person could spin it like that.

Not really.
I dunno how to describe this, so I hope it makes sense.
It's almost like an "ok" or an "affirmative." Like when someone makes a sudden noise, like their in pain, and when you check if their ok, they tap you, and you get up.
Not a tap. When I was grappling, I never took one tap as a tapout, several taps=tapout.

Looks to me like Louis was letting Djimbe know that he had been sitting inside an armbar and was finished. But you wouldn't notice that, would you?

Point being, I said it wasn't a tap.
