Several lesson formats:

'hard style' kung fu classes, light and easy warm up, stretching, some drills and katas or patterns. Techniques are practiced versus compliant opponents. Class is suitable for all ages. Plenty of focus on 'chi' and 'deadly techniques' which are not utilized or tested.

Similar format in 'soft style' tai chi type classes, focus on breathing and meditation.

Sparring classes, padwork, conditioning and light contact sparring, protective equipment is used. This is the most alive part of the school.

'Tumbling' classes, practicing breakfalls, some takedown and grappling techniques.

Grades are decided on ability to perform patterns, sometimes if a grading is failed one can go to the next grade by then attending 'camps' to make up for any perceived weakness.

Students are required to buy school outfits and shoes, pay for gradings, pay special fees to train with the head instructor, attend camps or seminars, dinners and competitions. The high price of individual lessons can be avoided by getting a year long contract. Members are also required to pay for a membership fee.
