Allo

I'm currently using some cheap Tiger Balm in an attempt to fend off the combination of rolling + gym + punching + being an old man. Whilst I'm sure the bulk of you are young, virile, fertile 20 somethings, I wondered if anyone had any experience anything more expensive (and therefore obviously 100000 times better), or if I should just keep buying the "3 pots for a pound" from the local thrift store?

Cheers!

Tiger balm or icy hot have always been my top choices.

i use this evil green balm that is like tiger balm in form, but more like icy hot in terms of how it feels, but i get it sent to me by the case from thailand and you can't get any.

so, i suggest you use tiger balm and or icy hot.

I like Tiger Balm. I like the smell, it's kind of a cinnamon/Coke smell.

I keep a small tin of the Tiger Balm white in my bag....it's about the size of a Carmex lip balm tin and a larger pot of the normal Tiger Balm at home.

The Tiger Balm white doesn't stain like the normal Tiger Balm does.

Isn't Tiger Balm white for congestion / runny nose or whatnot, or does it work on aching and torn muscles too?

I use it on sore muscles. They have another formula that smells like lavender for congestion.

I also have some of the patches as well that work for a short term usage that invoke an "Icy/Hot" type of response.

I love this quote from here: http://www.boingboing.net/2007/02/24/best-musclerub-ever.html

"my beloved Tiger Balm, which I adore so deeply that I have often considered brushing my teeth with it."

that's only because you accidentally got it on your "taint"

You are confusing tiger balm with mentol-camphor ointments such as Vick Vaporub (which can also be used for muscle pain.) Tiger Balm contain mentol and camphor, but it also contain other, stronger ingredients that, I believe, will cause irritation if used for congestion or runny nose.

"Tiger Balm Soft"

The younger generation who loves aromatherapy will appreciate Tiger Balm Soft. This topical analgesic ointment with a light lavender fragrance and soft texture works fast and effectively to relieve headaches, stuffy nose, insect bites, itchiness, muscular aches and pains, sprains and flatulence

perhaps this could help with your whey protein gas?

I also use Burt's Bees Comfrey Ointment for bruises.

Comfrey ointment you say... not sure I can get that brand here, but I can certainly get Comfrey Ointment. Thanks!

Not a problem.

This is generally what I use and is fairly easy to find.

Oh! It is available over here after all - we don't normally get the funky brands ;)

Be careful with lavender scented products. Especially with kids.
