i read an article about how rampage was reluctant to go on the show because he was worried about not being a good coach. looks like he was right so far.

I would hardly call him a bad coach. His inexperienced as his said, but his putting in the effort.

Rampages coaching is still better than Shamrocks and Hughes.

You have to remember that both Rampage and Forrest have their personal coaches there helping them coach as well. So even if they suck, which i dont think they do, they have good back up.

I don't remember Hughes being a bad coach.

Dude, Hughes was horrible. Everytime one of his guys lost, he'll take it to the entire team, making them feel like losers unworthy of his coaching, bringing a negativity that was just plain shitty. There's no way people can train effectively under those conditions.

Shamrock was worse, though.

Yeah, Shamrock took his team to the driving range, that really helped.

My favorite part of shamrock was his nutritionist.

"Man, I need to lose weight."

"You should eat more steak and potatoes!"

Am I the only one who would love to be coached by Rampage. Hes honest, like when he just flat out stated his BJJ game sucks. He also seems to really have alot of damn heart. I dont think I have seen a coach that looked so heartbroke over a loss of one of there team members that they didnt have a close personal tie with. He and Chipper really had a moment back there.. and that was after knowing eachother for HOW many days? I think I would like to have a coach that seemed to invest so much emotion into the fight.

That just means Rampage is an awesome person. I honestly think it's probably hard for most people to be a great fighter and a great coach at the same time.

Good coaching comes through evaluating all your past experience and using it to help benefit someone else based on their needs. When you're actively fighting, especially as a defending champion, you need to evaluate your experience for your own needs, first and foremost.

I see Rampage having alot of the qualities that would make a awsome coach though. Give him some time. He said right at the beganing that he wont make the best coach but its something he would like to do in the future.

TUF Final: Hughes vs. Serra

Mac Danzig (Team Hughes) vs. Tommy Speer (also Team Hughes)

Must have been doing somthing right...

yes, his advanced strategy of letting matt serra **** up the quarter final matches paid off in the end.

Yeah, Cas Mac "I'm 10 times as experienced as everyone else on the show" Danzig and Tommy "I'm a gorilla with a blond haircut" Speers would never have ended up in the finals without Matt Hughes masterful bible study.
