Do you train under a qualified instructor right now?
Currently on a non- voluntary haitus (one of those events outside of my control things), but soon will be training again at the kodokan. The main problem for the past 3 years has been going to a college in a hick town + having no car. Until now I've only been able to get what I could during the summer. I also have a bit of mma standup work at a SBGi for a few months and a month of BJJ or so PLUS my past experiences in MAs that weren't worth too much.

Honestly I'm very happy with the results from my brief time in mma, and I'm now trying to 'settle in' enough in an art to become proficeint. I don't think that I am worthless, but I realize that I am personally a slow learner and that while I have been able to do well against people not trained at all, against a proficeint fighter I'm toast.

Thus I recognize my limits while at the same time belive that I have the potential to be much better. At the same time I like reaserching martial arts so like a baseball fan who can tell you all the best strategies for a game but couldn't go pro for their life, I know more concepts then I can actually put into practice.
