Looks interesting. I love how the ACLU refers to tasers as "non leathal". Do any departments still call anything non leathal?

Some are concerned that if the public will get its hands on this, that means criminals will too.
Just like criminals commonly use TASERs and Pepper Spray. Oh, wait... :P

WHen I saw deparment of homeland security I almost clicked the link off.

So their paying a million dollars for a flashlight that is bright enough it makes people want to look away? My $60 surefire does that.
The reporter hardly looked incapacitated.

I have a feeling a criminal is still going to use a fucking gun instead of a bright flashlight.

That thing will work great against the Gucci crowd. They'll be like "Oh my God, I like, totally can't see! Let's stop this rioting and go get some shoes and champagne!"

Against a more determined foe this may not be effective.

Quoted for hilarity.

I feel like a strobe light would be more disorienting than that piece of ****

If you want to break up a Star Trek convention or cheat at the Special Olympics that PHASR seems like it would be just the ticket.

Hence the controversy.:icon_joke

That is clearly the most retarded thing I have ever seen. My tax dollars at work.

Oh and as for the OP's question. I believe the term "less lethal" is currently pc.

Yeah, thats why I was asking if anyone still used the phrase "Non lethal", I couldn't imagine that anyone did except for those parts of the counrty that are still about 15 years behind the times. I can just see some deep south good ol' boy with a beanbag shotgun shooting someone in the head because, "It's ok cuz that thar is a non lee thal round y'all"

Hand held strobe lighting? I give it about 2 years before they give and just install the damn things in clubs not that I really know jack about it mind you.

Also, wasn't that reporter staring at the light directly for about 30 seconds? Maybe the thing is designed to be used against the clinically obese but I'm well overweight and even I can cover 20 feet in 30 seconds, I mean so long as there's a pie in it for me or something similarly motivating.

Oh I can't believe you guys missed it: "30 minutes later I got a terrible headache."

LOL Dim Mak.

I think the flaming lips should buy one of those for every person at their concerts (no, I don't think it will hurt them, lips fans are immune to bright lights by now.)
