So if the UFC does what it says and has a card in Montreal in April I suspect a lot ot GTA and Ontario bullies will make a trip to Montreal. (train fare is pretty cheap by the way about $120 from TO to there and back)

Also there is a direct train from Penn station NY to Montreal that's about $120 for both ways.

Wouldn't it be cool to actually have a North East mini mega throwdown at the same time as a UFC event with Ontarians, Montrealers and New Yorkers?

Especially if it's Serra VS GSP?

Jus a thought to put out there.

A good idea, but not so easy to co ordinate...
I may be taking a road trip if the GSP fight ends up in Montreal. Are you sure about the train fare? That sounds really cheap. It costs almost a hundred to go return from London to TO.

That would be so dope. I'm down for it. Plus I've never been to Montreal before. Might be nice to not just go by myself being the dumbass that I am.

About a 170$ through Amtrak to come from Rochester to Montreal, any NY folks coming from Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Buffalo etc. we might want to just carpool and save money. It's a bit of a drive but oh well. Anyone else from NY interested PM me

From MMA Weekly

UFC CARD IN MONTREAL SHAPING UP

Tickets will go on sale Feb. 10 for the first Ultimate Fighting Championship card ever to be held on Canadian soil. The Bell Centre is the largest hockey arena in the National Hockey League with a seating capacity of approximately 21,000.

While demand seems to be high, historically Montreal has not been known to be the most lucrative of economic markets. But seeing that the sport of MMA continues to be prohibited in Ontario, many Ontarians are planning to make the commute to ‘la belle provence’.

The UFC also plans to extend a special invitation to Ontario’s Athletic Commissioner, Ken Hayashi, in the hopes that he will one day choose to open the doors to MMA in Ontario.

The rumored fight card thus far includes:
-Georges St. Pierre vs. Matt Serra
-Rick Franklin vs. Travis Lutter
-Jason MacDonald vs. Joe Doerksen
-Sam Stout vs. Rich Clementi
-Mac Danzig vs. Mark Bocek
-Kuniyoshi Hironaka vs. Jonathan Goulet
-Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua vs. TBA

Dear UFC,

Slip Ken a nice fat bribe - offer him a Job a la Ratner.
