A practitioner of traditional Vedic wrestling. The Great Gama was an example. I also found a reference to a female practitioner of Indian wrestling who was reputedly about 24 stone and offered marriage to anyone who could beat her (nobody could). She was mentioned in a Buddhist scripture condemning wrestling.

Interestingly, there was a guru of a wrestler's ashram who simply seemed to have the ability to live on and on and on, due to his extreme good health. I was looking forward to making a trip to his ashram to meet him but a little googling revealed that he had died at 94, not from old age but in a very violent car accident. The ashram is still turning out Indian wrestlers and Olympic wrestlers and the guru in question has been enshrined there.

Read "The Last Wrestlers" by Marcus Trower. I'm slowly getting through it. He is an English author skilled in Devon and Lancashire wrestling who travelled to India (which he makes seem as surreal as hell, but the people are capable and friendly) to Mongolia (where the people are racist, vain and arrogant, not my experience of them at all). He actually fought a wrestler skilled in this style who cleaned him up in seconds

this probably needs its own thread, good stuff, but i haven't checked it out yet.

In addition to being uniquely stupid dogmatically, the mormon church exploits its members financially, ostracizes those that don't contribute, and interferes deeply in the secular affairs of Utah.

My experiences of Utah have convinced me the percentage chance of a mormon candidate being able to seperate religion from business and properly understand the seperation of church and state are asymptotically close to nil.
Tithing isn't exploitation. People choose to pay a full, partial, or no tithing. No one but you, the Bishop and the ward clerk knows what you pay. The state of Utah was founded by Mormons, so Mormons are going to have a larger say in the running of the state, just by virture of population representation. Just as Baptists are going to have a strong say in the South, Lutherans in the North plains and dumbasses in California.

Romney isn't from Utah, it's his stupid flipflops that will kill him.

I like cricket, AFL and rugby, boxing wrestling judo etc but what I'd really like to see is a fighting tournament that gets back to its roots- armour and blunted weapons included where appropriate, so more styles get represented.

For anyone that cares and doesn't know, Australia destroyed India in the Boxing Day test in the cricket all out in 4 days.

I assume you mean something like stick fighting etc. as opposed to swords and shields etc?

Up just north of where I live they have a medievel fair, and bash each other with swords and armour etc. sort of like LARP extreme.

As for the 24 stone wrestler chick who would marry anyone who could beat her, did anyone try and beat her.... did anyone want to beat her???

That is like 152kg, I am not sure if her winning ways were all to do with her wrestling skills.

The Mormon religion is based on racism. If you research the Mark of Cain. You see how the Mormon religion feels about black people of people of African descent. I know this to be true and experienced this myself as a buddy of mine who isn't black by the way. He's more of a Latino skin color. We had a stopover in Salt Lake City Utah stayed for about a day. As you walk around or interact with people, waitresses. People in general, every once while someone mentioned to my friend about his skin color, and how dark it was the first to thought maybe they like his tan since everyone there was Caucasian not any different than myself I just found it odd, because it was brought up more than a few times. I mention this to another friend of mine and he told me about the Mark of Cain, which is a Mormon belief. So to have a president that is Mormon you have to think and say to yourself well, how fair would he be to be African-Americans in this country?

If Ron Paul's a fag and you're the type of guy who will stand right behind him. You have no proof to make a statement that he's a racist so keep your stupid comments to yourself.

What do you mean by 'the type of guy who will stand right behind him?' Like Munacra wants to put his dong in RP's butt?

Not entirely true, anymore as policy was reversed about 30 yrs. ago, due to potential political pressure.

From my understanding as explained to me, at one time the belief was if you had light skin, you fought on the side of God during Lucifer's attempted coup from God choosing Jesus' plan over Lucifer's. If you had dark skin, you fought on the side of Lucifer. If you had medium toned skin (Latino, Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander) you didn't chose a side and chose not to fight.

This was why they had strong mission work to Central and South America, Asia, Pacific Islands. These people were deemed "acceptable" by Church Management. Yes, Management as they are a business.

anyone understand or had this explained differently?

In sunday school they told me black people were made because Ham looked at his dad's (Noah) wiener and totally wanted it, like, to do gay stuff with.

What was reversed was Blacks being able to be bishops.

Wow. This is a new version I have never encountered. Seriously, kooler is right about the Mark of Cain. All people of color were supposedly cursed to show, they are descendants of the first murderer.

No, it has not been removed from the doctrine.

If you need proof I can direct you to a PRO-Mormon website trying to help convert black people.

To the rest, kooler is exaggerating. There are racist areas in SLC just like any other state.
