It's really weird, somedays, I'll be totally find, do the class, roll 3 or more times with multiple partners.
Last night, I just felt blah. After doing technique with Jeffrey, just had zero energy to do anything. I have a feeling it's diet, and I'm looking at changing it to have the energy.
My diet is usually very simple.
Breakfast:
5 egg whites
Wheat toast
Homefries
Lunch:
Tuna Melt with tomoato
Coleslaw
Snack:
Protein Bar
Training
Dinner:
Usually something heavy in protein.
Agreement that it's diet?

i'm not sure if it's directly related to your lack of energy, but it looks like you could use more green leafy veggies and fiber in your diet.

how much caffeine do you intake? Is it possible that you crash on those days you feel blah?
Or maybe you're not getting enough caffeine. Go out and buy Fast Twitch and drink half of it 30 minutes before you roll and the rest between rounds.
It's like some magic Dragonball Z juice crap, seriously.

Not sure if that's the answer to your specific question, but at least, these additions (glutamine +greens + fiber) seem to fill a particular hole in your current diet.
Also, it seems to me like you are eating a bit too little. I may be wrong, though.

How often are you training? Overtraining can be a problem, even for hobbyists.

Looks like you have a pretty low-carb diet which is good for weight/fat cutting but not great for performance.
The only immediately available enegry for cells in human body is glucose and the most accessible enegry storage is glycogen. If you do not get enough carbs in your diet your body needs to go to less accessible sources like proteins and fat.
Try a granola bar or two before workout.
fruits and veggies are your friends.

or make sure that protein bar that you have for a snack is one that has plenty of carbs.

Don't you weigh like 250?
Your calories are probably uber low for any activity level beyond couch.
Also you have almost no fats in your diet. BLAGH!! Healthy fats are important!

LOL, hobbyist.
I find that on some days I have low energy and lay on my back and get raped. On other days, I'm all over people. I don't see any particular rhyme or reason to it. Although on cold days I generally feel like crap.

Same here. It's pretty random for me. Somedays I'll feel great when I get to class, then crash and burn as soon as the physical activity starts. Some days I'll feel tired as hell, but when I get started I feel like I could go all night. Same thing with lifting. Damn if I know.
Do you get enough sleep?

I have been able to overcome this by eating whole grains with every meal and drinking tea an hour before training. This has helped me out a lot, but I still have a few nights every now and then where all I can do is just bridge and try not to be submitted. Energy (lack of it) can be a real bitch.

You need to tack on two smaller meals to what you're already eating.
Any fat intake? From what I've read fat is still needed in a diet. BB books suggest flax seed oil or omega 3 supplements.

Anthony, what supplements, if any do you take with your diet? Fish/flax oil? Multis? Vitamin C?? BTW, it's not one source but many (Charles Poliquin among them) that recommend taking vitamin C (500mg to 1000mg) an hour before doing any type of strenous exercise.
Some food for thought. Really, unless your dinner is large and well-balanced, I'm sure you are under-eating. You are a big dude man, big and scary!!!
