Let's be skeptical about the whole 'Oirish' sentimentality bollocks. This was a plot by local NBC affiliate WMPI 15 to boast ratings by exploiting the poor, uneducated citizens of Creighton, Alabama. It of course coincided with St. Patrick's Day, that's why the leprechaun was chosen.
