I know its a ways off, but I found this pic:

I figured I should make fun of it before someone else does.

The great style of the invisible fishing pole.

When do the next series of episodes start? Instead of fighting some champion I hope one of them has to perfect and demonstrate Iron Crotch technique.

I'm sure once the episode airs we can all look forward to another stimulating round of the great "If Kung Fu is so effective why don't we see it in the cage?" debate. Because it's such a fascinating and unexplored avenue of discussion on martial arts forums...

No, the problem is going to be that picture. They will go to some decent sanshou or Sanda based school. They will learn some decent throws etc etc.

They will then go to a venerable 38th Generation Shaolin Master. He will make them do some esoteric Qigong Tai Chi Health Bullshit. Then we will get laughed off of Bullshido.

Hopefully the episode will end with a 300ft. Lei Tai Gong Sau.

Haha, too perfect. The further we get from the days of Saturday Morning Kung Fu Theater, the easier it'll be for you to get the word out about good CMA.

I agree. If the episode goes the way of the Krav or Judo I'll be happy.

You still have some minute nuttiness but, there is enough reality to make the show good.

Agreed. But this is the show that managed to find Muay Thai LARPing. I wouldn't put it past them to include a segment where they attempt to master the flying guillotine.

Oh the larp was silly but it wasn't horrible. The real coach came in and said uhmm yeah that double fist punch doesn't work. As long as they counter the larp it can save the episode.

See, we have a pic of them doing either Qigong or Health Tai Chi. If it is followed by some Dim Mak **** I'll be highly upset.

I guess something is better than nothing, but I so wish there was an unbiased, professionaly made documentary, a real documentary, on martial arts and what people do to kick other peoples' asses.

BTW, I'm not happy about the Judo episode. Now we got tards all over the place quoting, verbatin the underlying team of that episode: that Judo was directly developed for Samurai fighting in armor (and from there asking if it has any relevance in S/D today.) **** that ****. :tongue6:

Yeah, what bothers me is that they always have to be reported on from an outsider's point of view. I would be perfectly happy to do away with the hosts and let these guys tell their own stories without being awkwardly fetishized as mystical foreign warriors. It comes across as a little patronizing at times. But the reality never sells as well as the fantasy. It's been true since ancient times and though I share your gripes, unfortunately it probably won't change anytime soon!

If it's any consolation there's plenty of foreign media that similarly romanticizes such "exotic" western arts as boxing. This one immediately springs to mind:
