Smells like total bullshido. My take? This guy has not only made up a bunch of stuff about his supposed martial arts experience, but he has created a make believe promotion and bought himself a belt too...

SAD.

This is not going well for Mr. Housman so far. Soon it will be time to invite him to comment here. Then either all this will come to a screeching halt, or hilarity will ensue.

The Register-Mail article describes him as a conditioning monster. The photos depict him as--to put it delicately--a man with a Don Gwinn body type. More Pooh than Grizzly, shall we say? Yes.
Anyway, I don't see how he can weigh 300 at 6'1" and look like that. 300 is my current goal; I left it far behind awhile back. However, he appears from those two small photos to be carrying significantly more fat than I am.

Nobody but an absolute genetic freak could be as fat as I am and be well conditioned for MMA. It's not possible, which is why I have to lose the fat.

Check out the picture of him kicking to see what I mean. If that guy's within 10 pounds of 300 I'll eat a rice cake.

His english skills are... poor, at best. Although, his phd is in theology, so it's probably from some sort of diploma mill (Hovind style).

My buddy has pledged to go work out with the guy next week. His curiousity has been peaked beyond the point of ignoring it. The difference between Mr. Housman and my buddy is that my buddy doesn't claim to be any kind of martial arts champion or martial arts superstar. So, with that said, if he goes to work out with him and comes back and tells me this guy is a joke. I'm going to take his word.

I see that Mr. Housman was invited to join us and has so far declined. Perhaps his ninjitsu training also includes the art of online invisibility when it comes to the truth...sorry couldn't resist.

My buddy did say that the guy is FAR from in shape.

The bottom line is this guy is going to hang himself because there is already a lot to prove and lies are like rust...they decay.

Thanks to everyone trying to find out about this guy. I'm wondering if the Register-Mail will do a follow up once he's exposed for being full of Bullshido?

Still no response from Mr. Housman?

Interesting...because one of his "students" showed up at my buddies dojo last night...

Still no response from the reporter at the paper either -- you'd think he'd be all over a story on someone using fake martial arts credentials to get a job with kids.

I re-sent my email to him, with that idea. Will keep you posted...

Thanks. We may have better luck with the editor or someone else at the paper. I'm sending the links to two other papers in town as well to see if they will actually do some investigating.

Here is the email address for the guy who actually runs the GYAC club. Perhaps he would be so kind as to provide some information that can be verified?

[quote=illinoisbulldog]I am a Karate,Boxing,Kickboxing, and NHB/MMA instructor. I also have Phd. in theology.. My personalty is easy going. My background in the martail arts. I hold 4 teaching degree's 5th.blk belt in Ninjutsu, 3rd.blk Shito Ryu Karate, 2nd blk belt Ishin Ryu Karate, 1st dan Tae Kwon Do, and instrustor cert. Tai Chi..

FWIW from an admitted LARPer (me), look out for anyone who claims to be "certified" in taiji. I've been a taiji bum for 15 years and know of no "certifying" bodies for instructors(although the Yang family did set up a ranking system a few years ago). So yes, sounds like Bullshido to me.

Individual schools and organizations often certify internally (see what I did there?).

Nicely done. But that's because most people who run internal schools are "certifiable."

Housman's ninjutsu is supposedly named "Rokkusan" (not sure how he spells it) and of course seems to be the only living practitioner. One of his students even verfied to my friend that Housman has yet to produce photos or film footage of any of his fights including the "King of the Streets". Conveniently, no one was able/allowed to go with him to Mexico.

I don't think there needs to be any further investigating. BULLSHIDO. My friend says that people will believe most of what they are told and question almost never when it comes to martial arts. So, I guess this Housman has a few disciples...since he is a "Shidoshi"...he can continue to enlighten these idiots on whatever it is he is claiming to be.

Thanks for the help though guys and gals...it seems there are people like this in every town. Sad...but true.

Why don't you just ask one of the guys from Bullshido who "will travel to kick your ass" to...travel and...kick his ass?

Only way to find out is if an experienced ameteur or pro fighter sees what he's got.

Until then, ask if you can watch one of his childrens "classes' and let us know if it reeks of Mcdojo.
