Hey, I'm making a layout for the next TD's highlight video, and I thought it would be cool if in the beginning it flicked through a series of images displaying the school logo/insignia/sign/patches of each MA school who had someone there.

If you'd like your schools logo on there, send me a link with the image on it, or PM me so I can give u my email and you can email me a picture of it. I'd preferably like to have every school on there, but if you don't want it there for whatever the reason that's fine.

Ok you guys fucking suck. No one? The reason for this is because throwdowns are often stereotyped by outsiders as being participated by people who "aren't martial artists" and are nothing more than some "fight club" or "backyard wrestling type stuff."

I want it to be made clear that especially in NY, we have people and 'real' martial artists of all colors who are willing to show up and have a good time.

I do Combat Judo, but I haven't been to a TD since I've started.

The first image is the WJC, the second is our Kids Program Logo (Worcester Wildcats), third is the Miyama Ryu Jujutsu Logo.

No clue how or if you're gunna seperate the three tho' (Good luck).

First of all I am a graphic designer and by default am awesome at separation. Secondly, I already have used just the first part for the Worcester Judo. Not sure if that is a separate class than the Miyama Ryu Ju-Jitsu, but if it is, let me know which you do/prefer and I'll use that. Or maybe I'll just put up both and give the illusion that we have more schools repping the TD ;)

I just spoke to Ming via PM, and I would like to clarify a few things due to the impression that he (and apparently others) got from my post.

Firstly, any and all logos/names will not be used in the video to represent individuals. Especially so in a HL vid, where scene to scene changes rather rapidly that would get quite tedious. All this would be is a rolling line of names/logos just to show who had guys who had the balls to step in, throw down and have some fun. There will be no way of the unknowing eye to discern who is from which school, nor who is who at all. Just that someone from that school got in there. I can hardly see that having any sort of negative impact on any school, and conversely could actually serve as free advertisement for them.

It will also be made clear in the video that throwdowns are not challenge matches, tournaments, or anything of the like, but rather an ego-free open mat sparring session where people can get together and have fun. I believe I will write something up that will scroll by textually expressing such to remove any doubt and any chance of the video being taken out of context.

Personally, if your worry is shaming your school or something to that effect, then I'd be more worried about announcing on the forum here where you train with the FULL videos being posted in the aftermath. I'd also recommend not even showing up if your fear is not doing your school justice, because that's not what these things are about, and having people there fighting to prove a point isn't going to be tolerated unless it is stated clearly on here beforehand.

yeah, for the moment, leave my school out of it, that may change soon, but i'll PM you the info when that happens.

No problem. It won't be up and running until October after the throwdown anyway after all the editing, blood, sweat, tears and love I pour into it ;)

Use the first pic/The Worcester Judo Club on, I personally don't do Miyama Ryu (minus one seminar where I got horribly injured and bloody and had to bow out half-way in) so putting up that pic might not be very accurate. Thanks for asking and computer skillz such as picture-removing-from-slide-show-deelee are as familiar as voodoo magic to me.

I am currently training in universal karate studio in lancaster, sc should i ask my sensei to get me the school logo....
