Last year I went out to Foxboro Casinos with the old man because he found cheap tickets to "ISKA MARTIAL ARTS TOURNAMENT" and the last I seen/heard of the ISKA was an ESPN special and it was all K-1-y Kickboxing in rings, most did Sanda, KK or MT and I saw some quality fighters (Including one dude from California who just 0wned0rz).

Well, we get there and I hear screaming. I think to myself "Oh ****! We're late, someone must've just got hurt bad!" and run.... into a room with a 20 something year old guy in hakama and a BOAT PADDLE spinning in a circle screaming like he just got a splinter in his sack.

I kept a brave face for my dad who was wicked excited he got me tickets to a "National Martial Arts Event" (I think the Terada guy has a clip from it, the one with the carpet and chandaliers). Then we went and did slots and blackjack in the Under 21 Section. (I lost $20)

One notable memory is a young woman (mid twenties) had a pink beater on, with karate pants and a belt on backwards with the back/now front having "Bad Girl" written in gold. She said "I love fighting, I'll fight anyone (She later fought a young man 18ish in a point sparring match). I remember her because she must've had the most perfect rack I've ever come across.

I'm calling :bs: on this "perfect rack" until I see some video proof. If what you say is true, it may be the only XMA video I will have found worth watching.

Speaking of videos that I have unfortunately seen, I looked at the one from post #3. I know that a lot o us here have ragged about the usefulness and point of forms, and yet, after watching this, I desperately wanted to view a GOOD form video from a traditional martial art (I have a huge desire for it to be Shotokan). I can understand i you want to do forms, but when your fist is flopping at the end of your wrist like a piece of rubber, it seems to defeat the point of forms. The XMA forms seem to be all about speed. In fact, I'm waiting for someone to just scream for 2 minutes and say that they moved so fast that you could not see them, ala Dragon Ball Z.

Well, after checking out XMA more I have to say Team Ryouko make their **** look cool. I'd love to be that talented in gymnastics. But that's what it still is.

Sitting at the Japanese steakhouse last night, I realized that Hibachi is more of a martial art than XMA. At least their weapons are sharp.

I don't thionk the swords they use in XMA are real, are they? They look like aluminum to me. And they seem awfully lightweight.

And there's a reason why XMA, Wushu, Taekwondo, etc. are shown in movies and are rarely represented in MMA. Because they are cool as hell to watch, but you can't really win in fights with those techniques, unless you fight against someone who is slow and doesn't know what he is doing (or she, for those who like to fight women. Personally, I like to fight children. They have glass jaws).
