I chose to learn kung fu because i am chinese. This is one of the last shimering pieces of a broken culture.

Well, I'm not sure what's going on between you two guys, but Meng, why does it bug you that he wants to do CMA for cultural preservation?

You say you're Chinese!?! Fucking hell...

Bullshit ************. No matter how much you wanna switch you're still a abanana.
Every in China these days is western this western that. You probably never lived there and you don't know what it's like. everything is gone. even if you lived there you were probably a stuck up city folk with a head up your ass!

You just assume the only chinese culture thing i do is CMA.
Mother fucker what have you done to preserve your culture? I listen and recite traditional songs and plan to go back and record songs from my village. I dig in a mud field behind my village and found coins from the song dynasty, I have relearned my old dialect. What the **** have you done other than be an internet badass?

My culture is western. All I have to do is sit back and watch as Adam Smith and his Capitalist Crusaders take over the world.

Why the fucking aggression dipshit? What exactly rubs you the wrong way about a 'westerner' who thinks the Chinese have given a lot more to the world than a bunch of fags dancing in silk pajamas? In fact most kung fu is a recent, communist invention and isn't even worthy of being called culture at all.

What rubs me the wrong way is that there's not even a link for this subforum and you come here to talk **** and expect me to take it like a noob. i am acting agressive because you are acting aggresive and insulting what i do. You a white dude/banana telling me what is Chinese. You said **** and i said ****. What rubbed me is that the moment i refreshed the page I saw your douchebag insult.

You took umbrage at the statement "There's so much more to Chinese culture than martial arts". You disagree with this statement then?

thecheeseman

I disagreed when you said "You say you're Chinese!?! Fucking hell..."
Let me say it again You just assume the only chinese culture thing i do is CMA. Stop trying to argue there's nothing to win at.

His issue appeared to be that you consider Kung Fu a crowing cultural acheivement when there is so much more than that contained within culture

That is how it read anyway....

What is your core base of Chang Quan ? (which is an external method unless memory fails me). What was your instructors style?

My assumption was based on your statement "This is one of the last shimering pieces of a broken culture.", and frankly that's all a lot of people do. The fact that a lot of 'kung fu' is a communist invention only adds insult to injury imo.

Now, enlighten me as to what the **** a banana is, because I don't recall bringing racial epithets into this.

Edit: Yes, what Hanniballistic said.

banana = asian guy who acts white (yellow on the outside, white on the inside)
egg = white guy who acts asian (white on the outside, yellow on the inside)

lame, i know.

I expected you to say that, i don't blame you, there's not enough info. you think i am an average asian nerd but you don't know me.
i learned techniques from my second teacher in the YMCA. he does yang taiji and wing chun and I learned all of my CMA from him. He taught me a bunch of bodyweight excercises and i sparred with him. He learned random techniques from people and taught me random techniques. I didn't put yang taiji and wing chun as my style because i didn't learn the art, only a few techniques from them.
I sparred in my two years in Karate and I spar with my friends from school at the ymca. I only sparred full contact for two months because my friends had no gloves no nothing, and i got kneed in the face and slammed to the ground and hurt my back.
i now told you everything i did so if you got to critisize critisize, if you got to talk **** talk ****.

If that's true, in my opinion, you are probably better off than had you been learning a ton of forms.
You don't get it do you? did you read anyhting i wrote? I lifted weights every day and sparred with my friends everyday at the ymca. When i mean i practiced the basics I mean fist pushups, chinese pushups ,squats , farmer's walk and going to gym all day every day for three years. That's what my first teacher told me to do and that's what i did. what you thought i held the horse stance for three years?!
