Is there a current link to Shamrock v. Baroni?

To be honest, watching Coleman's theatrics after the Fedor fight lead me to believe he is off steroids as he was much more in touch with his feimine side. Normally, 12 120 pound Japanese referrees need to restrain him.

Holy ****, I'd have to gain at least 20 lbs...they, er...they don't do drug tests, do they? :D
No they don't test, but roids wouldn't help. I'd have to loose twenty pounds if that's any comfort.

You may have a point........
if a person was on steroids for too long, they lose thier ability to produce testosterone on their own. im not saying thats what happened to coleman, but it would be reasonable to say that his ability to produce testosterone has been hindered. and to his being more femmie, your body seeks a balance, if testoserone goes up so does estrogen. this could mean that his body has too much estrogen and too little testosterone after quitting steroids, so it should be a while before his body has reached a balance again.

Roids don't really inhibit the production of testosterone, in the short term, but it does cause the body to up it's estrogen levels to compensate for the additional hormones being introduced. So the sudden lack of additional MGH would leave your body with an over abundance of estrogen. Theres no set amount of time from person to person that could be labled as too long. There are some cats on roids for years befor thei body become roid dependent for testosterone and then again there are guys only on it months befor their body shuts off it natural supply. And who's to say what Colemans body type is??? But eventually, the body being the effecient machine it is, the body will shut down testosterone production since the hormone is already in the system. And it will indeed take a while for the body to wake up and realize it needs to crank out what it needs once the guy is off the juice.
thank you for the clarification, i will keep that in mind in the future.

Well, they would with the weight gain. I'd need gain 20 lbs to be @186, LOL, I'm a natural welterweight, or if I wanted to cut weight, a lightweight.

So now I guess you'd say it would be a matter of size vs skill. I have already talked to the promoter and he is down for hosting a grudge match. Don't back down now there big mouth. If your such the phenom catch wrassler you can easily overcome the size issue. Better yet how about we limit it to a submission event. I mean since you're such a bad ass and I am such an idiot what's the chance you're gonna have your ass handed to you?????
I doubt anyone cares about my opinion about the fights, but just for the sake of my own venting:
I just saw the event on one of my movie channels. In reference to the Cung Le fight, I know the announcers were freaking out about it being so "dynamic" and other crap like that, but I was disappointed. Le's opponent needed to do what he bragged about being able to do, TRANSITION from standing up, to the clinch, to the ground. He wanted to beat Le at his own game and seemed to let his pride get in the way of his best strategy to decisively win. Le won fair and square, but I was a little annoyed by the end of the fight.
In reference to Shamrock vs. Baroni, I was both pissed and annoyed. About one third of me said, "Hooray Baroni got taken down a peg!" while two thirds of me said "Fuckin' a', that annoying, self-righteous jerkoff won!" First of all, I was annoyed by his total lack of class when it came to his bullshit "sleeping" gestures among others. Second of all, he cheated AGAIN. He hammerfisted Baroni to the back of the head twice while on top in clear view of his target. Baroni was too proud to take the extra time he had to recover, and suffered. Shamrock may very well have won otherwise, but now we'll never know. And finally, I hated Shamrock's sudden extreme exhaustion when the fight was over. He was wimpering and scowling on the ground, but when it came time for the photo-op with the judge to announce his win, he shot right up and smiled, and then had to be half-carried out of the stadium.
If most or all of this has been said before, I apologize, I was just trying to vent a bit about the two bigger fights.

Frank Shamrock's cockiness is a facade. Look up Frank Shamrock on youtube and listen to the informal post-fight interview in front of his gym. He was classy there. He's not normaly classy as a marketing act. Dude, the blows to the back of the head were light. He was still dazed from getting knocked the **** down by Shamrock's flurry. Besides, people get hit in the back of the head all the time in the UFC and Pride, its just that the refs don't call it. Therefore, most fighters are cheaters by your own definition. Its almost undeniable that Shamrock would have won in the first round if not for the stand-up. As for the half carry out he was fighting with a torn ACL and MCL. He actually was exhausted as people can't train cardio with two major ligiments torn. All he could do was swim which doesn't elevate the heart enough to build proper MMA cardio. Seriously, people need to stop hating Shamrock so much.

I wouldn't make any "strength" excuses, I'm just saying, if it's a sanctioned event, I'd need to be somewhere around your weight. If it's not sanctioned, then it doesn't matter. Also, I wouldn't see the point in travelling that far for a sub wrestling match, and I'm assuming the fans (if any) would find it awfully boring.
If it's MMA, is it Unified Rules?
Donkey_Fizzle
7/07/2007 8:47pm,
Unified Rules, yes. I didn't mean the fight would be sanctioned, sorry. But as an exhibition fight the weight difference is a mute point. It wouldn't be a legit fight per say, due to weight, but all normal ammy USF/Kickdown rules would apply.
On a side note. We are actually trying to get submission only events going here as well as MAA. And the even promoter is thinking about adding a couple exhibition matches to the event card. Judo, gi ju jitsu, submission wrestling and so on. There is a burgeoning fan base here that can and do appreciate that type of action. Though not as many as the those that turn out to see people pound on each other.

Wyoming is a non-codified state but we abide by CO commission guidelines. And thus we operate under the Unified Rules for MMA. The fight itself wouldn't be sanctioned but it would be conducted as legitimate match, aside from weight, and ammy USF/Kickdown rules would apply.

That's crazy, I'm sure an event like that would fall flat on its face here.

Amatuer USF rules=...?
