What made the fight good was not the technical performance of either fighter (though Emerson's takedown defense was fairly impressive), it was the intensity. Both fighters put up a good fight, and were pretty evenly matched, until Emerson gassed. Conditioning for the win. Anyway, I was on the edge of my seat pretty much the entire fight.

We all got bored at different times... I'm sure you will see me acting like a jackass too. Not to the same extent, but everyone got bored and did stupid ****.

I get the feeling from the way you write, and what little interview footage of you that's around, that your "stupid ****" doesn't even come close. Men in thongs + butt tubes = how do I wash my eyes?!

The hilarity of the colonic was added to by the fairly recent episode of Penn and Teller's BS alluded to earlier. Maybe he lost some weight, but no more than he would've had he just taken a big dump. But as an added bounus tube up the ass!

And, apparently, some very close miking! Yuck.

I love corey. I can tell they're trying to edit him together, but I can also tell he's got a contagious intensity and a great heart, he's a dangerous fighter and a cool guy.

I'd be willing to bet that many of the guys on here that are so anti thug/hood are bumping some hip hop on their i-pods

I didn't mention it before, but I'm "anti thug/hood." No ipod, no hip hop.

At the extreme end of the spectrum, guys that act like that make me want to carry a gun, because I know my gimped up (as opposed to pimped out) body can't handle ****. My thinking goes, "if you want to act like a violent criminal, I'll treat you like a violent criminal."

Perhaps a reminder of the root of the word (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thuggee) would help you to understand those who take an anti-thug stance.

I'll bet dollars to donuts that White doesn't want Gabe cut too fast, even if he doesn't like the guy. He knows people will keep tuning in to see if he get's his ass kicked/what stupid **** he'll do next. The whole thug thing is annoying as hell, and just reminds me of why they took weight rooms out of a lot of prisons. I have to admit, once I saw the vaseline on the tubes, it was time for bed. Life's too short to waste time watching a bunch of attention whores. next time, I'll just play the last 15 minutes on my DVR.

I run to DMX, Cypress Hill, and NWA.

Although I'm kind of tired of the new **** that's all about "tha club", and miss the actual righteous anger coming through in the lyrics.

Nate's attitude isn't about his music though, that's just Bay Area Cali spilling over into Stockton. Everyone's got that fucking attitude out there, and the few who don't, are generally either hippies or pussies. You need that to survive interacting on a daily basis with the fucking knuckleheads and dipshits who live there.

That doesn't excuse or condone it, but it helps explain things. Unless you're just flat out rich or way out in the country, Cali is a fucked up place to grow up and that's why we bailed from there years ago.

Anyway, Nate's background is the reason why he's that way. Coming from an environment where everyone acts like they want to kick your ass (chihuahua syndrome), to an environment where you know they want to kick your ass, would bring it out in someone like that, in force.

Maybe its because im younger than a lot of guys here but I don't see what they did as being that bad... Not sure I would want to get a colonic no tv though.

Also Corey is now my new favourite, guy is all kinds of awesome

Haha at Corey going nuts.
The Burger King TUF standings is incredibly useless.
Action packed fight, Nate fights like Nick, just keeps coming forward.

I'd just like to say...TEAM DAGGER!!!!!

My wife makes a joke about me and grappling and tells people I wear a thong and wrestle men.

I say it's not funny and a tired joke and there's no thong's in grappling

Thank god she was talking on the phone with her friend and out of the room during the colinc and fucking thong gayfest.

No that there's anything wrong with that

As Nate said "if you're gay you're gay" just I escaped a lot of grief from her not being in te room.

The thing about Ruddiger BTW is beyond being a whinny attention whore and over weight. He's a very accomplished and dangerous fighter.

I thought the fight was pretty good.

Fighting a southpaw is awkward. Fighting someone with like a six inch reach advantage is awkward. And fighting someone where you want to fight on the inside (due to reach) but you don't want to clinch too much (because he wants to take you down) is /very/ awkward.

With all that going on, I thought Emerson performed very well, considering.

Agreed. However, it was frustrating to watch him ignore the excellent advice coming from Penn: "When he pummels in, ELBOW TO THE FACE!" Actually, he did throw a couple decent elbows in the first round from the clinch -- and to good effect -- then inexplicably stopped. For a second there, I thought he was going to be able to finish the fight that way . . . what with the reach diff, that looked to be his best range, and Diaz did NOT enjoy those elbows in his mush.

Still, not the bestest fight evar in TUF, by my light.

Maybe you guys shouldn't be frustrated by his lack of doing something. I'm sure Em would love to spar with anyone on this board. Its not always as easy as just doing something, as I'm sure Em could show you if you sparred with him.

I was trying not to come off as an armchair general, just saying that I saw it as clearly not the best fight ever and was looking for other opinions in case I missed something.

Easy there, guy. I was frustrated because I wanted him to win, and it looked like he could have.
