First of all it's not slapping, its called body breaking. It is very effective, but how many people can use it effectively? It add’s both power and speed to your technique. A lot of Kenpo is misinterpreted, what someone on a high level can do with the principles in kenpo is amazing to say the least. Believe me the stuff Ed Parker was doing was what I would call almost magical in its application. I think it takes about 10 yrs. In Kenpo before you can begin to get into its essence. Don’t give up take it a step at a time. As long as you keep practicing you will improve and as you look back that will be a great deal of improvement. Good Luck

Not needed, if you saw any of his demos, you should understand, just like Bruce Lee, both have been in real situations, of course everything that he did in his life is not recorded nor should be. Ed Parker is not Mike Tyson or Joe Frazier, I know he was not that tough, but that does not mean he could not take them out. People make the mistake of comparing what is sport to true combat.

The closet thing I've seen to Parker is Larry Tatum, man this guy is just right under Ed Parker, very close I would say.

Yeah, screw that hokey "evidence" crap. If it works in a demonstration, then it must work in real life! Just like KI BALLS. And after all, he's like Bruce Lee.

Petter, looks like your a non-believer, too bad I hope you never go up against any of those kenpo phonies :) Bruce Lee was just a phony too, right? He was like Lee in the fact that he's a Master of what he does. Shotokan one strike one kill, right? yea right, I know better

The degree of "childish funnyness" in such responses are inversely proportional to the quality, intelligence and value of the statements which solicit them. That's why it was almost funny, very, very, very, very oh so very close to be fully funny.

All I could think of when I saw the initial post was the old smack "I could have had a V-8!" commercials. Then I read about how a demonstration is a verification of someones actually combat ability, and I just want to go take a shower. 10 years- that's a long time to get good at anything. Christ, people make it to the Olympics with less training in REAL sports. At the same time, if you are collecting tuition fees, sounds very profitable $$$ to me.

Gene Simmons, get real, 70's rehash, your lameOh! Wow!!! The wit and ingenuity of your replies are too much to handle. Please sir, don't break a neuron with such witty retorts.

And it's not "your lame", but "you are lame" or "you're lame".
