After work I'm usually shattered, I just can't seem to wake up. Are there any suppliments available that really wake you up and give you energy?

This has interested me in the past but it troubles me that they do not tell you what they put in their pills and say it's a "secret." You've actually used it, not had a heart attack, and also got the benefits described you say? I am actually considering getting some now, how would you say it compares to say a Red Bull?

On a more serious note, it could be your diet and perhaps lack of supplementation if you are training often. Check for glutamine, BCAAs and a strong mulitivitamins if you get a chance. Sometimes your diet makes you or breaks you.

If I drink a RedBull, I don't even feel it. Spike gives me a nice long, clean (no headaches or anything) buzz. They also have a Spike "Shooter" drink with 0 calories and a nice raspberry flavor (unlike Redbull and many others' "mystery piss" flavor). The drink's nice if you need a little pick me up because it hits faster (about 30 minutes vs. 1 hour with the pills) and doesn't last as long (about 4 hours vs. 6 with the pills).

I am in the Army, PT 5 days a week, and do BJJ 2-3 days a week on top of that. I also spend 7 hours a day in the classroom learning Arabic, and often have other bullshit to do after that. Most importantly, it is my sworn duty to keep idiots from posting in DHS, as well as to keep conversation productive and on-topic. Not to put too fine a point on it, but I'm fortunate to get 6 hours of sleep a night. I drink a 16 ounce can of Low Carb Monster Energy about half an hour to an hour before I train. It keeps me going.

Also, I tend to down a starbucks low-fat/low carb doubleshot thingy before I go to class (or on my way). Basically, I can't function without caffeine and energy drinks.

^^^ And you are also in your early 20's, with testosterone at normally levels.

Not to derail, but a lot of people don't realize how important testosterone is for staying alert/energetic and to be able to sleep (and rest during sleeping.) Ahhh, those days long gone, I could go everyday with 4 hours of sleep and have no problem with it... sniff :(

Wheat grass pills used to give me crazy energy throughout the day. Plus they're cheap. When I first heard of wheat grass I heard that it improved digestion, seeing as how it's more or less just concentrated vegetables. But oddly enought after a day or two on it I started recovering from everything faster and always, ALWAYS had energy. Couldn't even sleep for more than 6 hours if I tried. Most of the pills touted as energy boosters just made me slightly hyper for an hour or two then left me drowzy as hell for the rest of the day.

If you put out more energy that you will ever need in any particular day or situation in a short length of time during your training and recover fully, you will produce more energy during the rest of the day. You get out what you put in during training, and nothing more. Train harder, train faster, train smarter, recover better, and eat 6 meals a day. Don't take my words for it.

They're mostly sold online. I have yet to see them sold in GNC or any other supplement store. I've heard that the shakes are better, but they taste like absolute ass.
