I'm going to be moving to Atlanta in about 2 to 3 months and was hoping I could find a Judo school similar to the one I am right now. I study at Memphis Judo & Jujitsu and we practice, in my opinion, newaza in equal footing, or close to it, with Tachiwaza. We do at first 15 to 20 minutes of Uchikomis, warmups, and new techniques. Later we move to newaza randori for about 25 to 30 minutes and the rest is tachiwaza randori.

i'm asking specifically for a school that practices very lax rules. very similar to bjj schools like my school does it. We allow crossfacing, leglocks and the like. So is there anyone of the atlanta people that can help me out?

Isn't Alliance in Atlanta?

Go train there.

Is bjj going to be my only choice? yeah Alliance is in Atlanta but it's quite expensive compared to what I pay for judo. I heard AJA was good but they train strict Olympic Judo rules. I would much rather take judo though I will try to take bjj as well. Is there a place that teaches both? Any Judo for open Grappling tournaments or MMA fighting?

Ask the biggest University's sports association in Atlanta. Most likely they have an inexpensive club which has contacts to all the other Judo clubs. Just call them up on the phone.

Yes go try Leo White (he's @ 400 and 85 ) and ask to Randori w/ Happy, you will get your money's worth. Great place to train. The question you need to ask is where are you going to live in Atlanta. Do you have an idea or are you going to plant yourself near a dojo??? There are many possibilites in Atlanta to train.

Leo White. Look for him in the Atlanta area. One of the best Judo players the US had and a great guy also. I highly recommend if you can get to train with him you do so. I believe he coaches at the Atlanta Judo Academy in Woodstock but I am not sure. I can't find anything on the net to point to him but I am sure he is still active.

Here is a good article about Mr. White.

Does Leo White teach with strict Olympic judo rules?

I'll probably be moving to either marrietta or cobb county though I don't think proximity we'll be that much of an issue.
