I agree breakfalls are very useful. I also found knowing how to roll useful once when I sideswiped a tree and got launched off my bike. I instinctively tucked and rolled and escaped with no more than a slightly sprained ankle.
And also ditto on the montal preparedness.

I guess I have the usual balance, conditioning and improved toilet flushing ability. But as far as the deadly goes, I try to avoid fights by not being a dick.
BTW, TCC is great training for snowboarding.

TKD has been a huge help in my daily life with my germ-phobia. I can lift toilet seats with my feet. At urninals, I can do an axe kick flush. My hands touch nothing.
So yeah, I use my training in real life everyday.
I am a blackbelt in not touching toilets with my hands. I'm not even joking. Thank you karate.

I'm 31, have never been in a (serious) fight, and don't plan to ever be in one. (I've been injured in MA-sparring, but that was only with aliveness, not with any malicious intent.) The times I've encountered drunkards and high people with aluminium-pipes or handguns in or around the local pub, I've told the pub-owners/police that have handeled the situation without making a fuss about it. I use my MA daily, though, for opening doors, lifting stuff, etc. I thinke everybody could benefit from doing MA, even if they never are threatened by hooligans or loves to fight in an arena. I know that my body-control have increased.
All the time! Whilst mugging old ladies for crap.
This one time, I cornered an elderly lady in an ally, rather then having to use "conventional" mugging techniques, I ran up behind her and hit her with a left cross before grabbing the bag and making good my escape.
Oh Letum! you Dashing Rogue!
In this day and age, guns and knives have taken over the streets. where the **** do you live...

When I wuz a chunner, I used my pigeon-toed stance when the tortoise was poking his head out of his shell, to great effect! Head used to go back in. Now I've lost this skill, and I regularly **** myself, especially since the fisting I get every BJJ class has dilated the old rectal passage somewhat.
Don't lie, you TKD guys even chamber your axe kicks.
Well, duh, if you don't they're as slow as molasas on a cold plate. Are you advocating swinging your whole leg like a huge dead piece of wood?
As for Korean chicks, yeah, they're hot.
As for using MA in my daily life, yeah, it helps me keep my ballance and keep from falling down, cause I'm usually drunk as **** and am a complete doofus.

I don't do Martial Arts. Sport BJJ however, has allowed me to lead my squad in flexibility. I've also saved friends lives in the past when they wanted to drive somewhere that they shouldn't, due to alcohol intoxication. Rear Naked Choke gets the tough love win.

Maybe I am just a paranoid person and want to be prepared for when/if a fight comes my way. Let's hope I get this mental alertness or whatever from starting a martial art. That seems like the only practical benefit since fighting isn't a daily occurence for me.

Last time I was drunk, I was having a "voerspiel" at a friends place. I was sitting on the armrest of a comfychair, when it tipped sideways, so I fell backwards! I fell and nearly managed to land my head in an oven... but the cup with cola and vodka didn't spill a single drop! I credit my inner chi:occasion1

If you're interested in feeling like you can handle a mugger with a weapon then do RBSD or Krav Maga. Or better yet, do parkour.
And if you're interested in mental alertness you should invest in some Adderall.

Even Bruce Lee said back in his time that if you encounter someone in a confrontal situation they'll just pull out a gun and bang it's over baby.
Where did Bruce Lee say that?
In bewteen banging some guys mom and wailing on his guitar.
