I currently do Yoga on a Monday and Tuesday night before my Muay Thai sessions but i'd like to practice more at home. I find that my kicks are a lot more powerful and fluent on a Monday and Tuesday due to the Yoga, something which doesn't reflect so much in my Wednesday and Thursday sessions.
However i forget the asanas i've done in the lesson and would like an easy to follow DVD that can show me begginer to intermediate techniques. Does anybody know of any good ones as there are a lot out there and i don't want to waste money on rubbish!
I do Hatha Yoga by the way and my aim is to improve core strenght and flexibility for my kicking and grappling.
Also, do any of you have any particularly useful websites that have video clips or pictures?
I just got Yoga for Martial Artists by Stephen Keasting. It's very good.
Sounds interesting, i'll look that up.
I've also found one called Yoga for athletes which has pretty good reviews. I'm renting that one out soon.
What about this Warrior Yoga (http://www.quantumjujitsu.com/warrior_yoga.html) stuff?
I figure as long as it loosened up the hips and posterior chain it would be good enough for more martial artists, maybe with spine and shoulder stretches added in for jitz peoples.
Perhaps a custom bullshido practice could be made. :o
Just look in a few libraries. I don't think one is that much better than other. Get a few one's in a library and comprare. YOu'll get a taste for them.

It can be a pretty tough workout. Just try to ignore all the hippy talk. "Where you are is where you want to be..." and such.
whatever video you do get, make sure it's ashtanga yoga. it's more intense than any other yoga i've tried and if you REALLY want to improve your flexibility and core strength, this'll do it for you (and quickly!).
(i know you asked for a specific video, but i have to whore off ashtanga at least once a day or else my life is incomplete)
I'm doing Hatha at the moment but we do throw in some Ashtanga asanas too. I think i'm gonna build up my core strength a little more first but will defo look into Ashtanga too
any power yoga, is good, really. most of them are based on ashtanga...but there's not much variety in ashtanga because it's just the same series over and over and over (and over) again until you're good enough to move into the other series (takes forever). so you might want to see if you can find a class with the vinyasa sequence or look up some poses and incorporate them into your practice to spice it up a bit.
