http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/

The entire article is supposedly about how the discipline of physical training and religious experiences are interlinked, from the view point of a "right wing bible beater" perspective.
Its an actual religous website, mixed with a body builder website.

This concept is interesting to me, since i am a Roman Catholic who does beleive in many of the things expressed in church and I was wondering the opinions of the people on Bullshido about the concept milking religion like these people are to sell whey and other products.

Well it seems to me that if you have a crappy product you sell it to those who are gullible. And that means catering to fairytales like the bible. Of course if you have a decent product you can still reel in the gullible people.

Don't worry about it man . Those sinners who aren't using God aproved products and holy Prayer methods to bulk and maintain a body for pure ego reasons are all gonna fucking burn in goddamn hell for it anyway . Don't sully your soul worring sbout things like ethics and morals .

Join the club and know that jesus has already forgiven you for the sins you have commetted against the non-believers . It is your right as a Christian to milk the heathens and fools for money while you enlighten the narrow path to the gold plated gates of Heaven and the Loving but vengefull arms of the Lord God Almighty .

I wonder how Vanilla protein powder tastes in Kool-aid .

I'm not much for religion, but using people's faith to sell bodybuilding products (or just about anything else) is ridiculous and ought to be humiliating for both the buyers and sellers.

its such a cover up, as i read it now, its such bullshidoish stuff..... all this faux-science and biology for weight lifters, written as if they were dissertation papers for a PHd in Bio or Sports Psych, but they need to splice in pictures of random weight lifters for no reasons whatsoever.

The first and most pressing "article" is "WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE" whcih is a intense biblical study of how the bible promotes massive physical training with chemicals and whey protein, even though such things didnt exist back then.

They almost had me until they end one of their "dissertations" introductions, with (i **** you not)

Excellent way to get peer reviewed, like they claim on their site.

this link shows another part of it - http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/testimonyindex.php#

I do not see how vanity of oneself should be related to the Christian faith.

Thread moved.

A teacher of mine once told me about a buddhist monk he knew who bodybuilt. He asked him how a superficial sport like body building related to buddhism and the monk told him that to him bodybuilding was the same as meditation.

The difference between that case and this one is the monk was harmlessly practicing out his beliefs. Here they're trying to use other people's beliefs to get money.

I used to like that site for weightlifing info but then it became overtaken with fundamentalist Christianity, anti-evolution and rapture BS. Now I refuse to go there on principle.

Once many years ago I posted on thier forums that noahs ark and the flood never happend and that evolution is strongly supported by various fields of science and they spat venom at me, deleted my posts then threated to ban me for not respecting thier beliefs. Maybe if thier beliefs weren't a load of bollocks I might respect them.

Guess it's a good thing you didn't inform them that Christianity stole the flood and ark myth from at least three ancient religions. That might have gotten you sent to the gallows.

I did tell them that. I told them that flood myths are prevalent amongst coastal cultures and a babylonian one about a man who built a boat to survive a great flood spread to many surrounding cultures. They replied that if various cultures have that story, then it must be true. They didn't respond as to how they had them before the Judaic version.

If I recall correctly thier "debate" tactic was to copy and paste huge tracts of **** from a site called answersingenesis.com which would contain so many errors, half-truths, strawmen and irrelevant points it would take days to sit there are refute them point by point. if you didn't respond to every claim in the diatribes they pasted, they declared themselves the winner. Once some smug git of a moderator said that evolution was false because scientists claim whales evolved from land dwelling mammals (hence the vestigial pelvic bone) but if you take a land dwelling animal and throw it in the water it drowns. Therefore, evolution must be false, and ergo the Judaic-Christian bible must be true.

LOL religion.
