Does anyone know about the level of grappling in this event? Does it have a reputation good or bad? I know the 2005 one was in Las Vegas - perhaps some of our members there could help me out . . .

Ha! Glad you followed up on this. Looks like a krotty tournament that has brought in some grappling. If there were a high level of grappling you'd probably see some names on the flyer (though I was at a tournament that had Xande in the bb division and there was no mention of it).

Me thinks Master Stan and Tina don't want to pay for good pro divisions.

I also wouldn't worry too much about it. Your guy probably has no clue about what tournaments to attend in the US. As I recall he's unaffiliated and purplebeltish level (according to your log).
