Actually im not in the military, and i didn't plan to stay here in MS long, just to visit family and such, but through a series of events i ended up here a lot longer than i anticipated. Now im finally getting to go back. My new successor will undoubtedly post his first diary entry soon. Until then you folks will have to bask in the suspense of who it is. :5bomb:

Shin, it's a bummer for us that you have to move and thus can't fully continue the saga of hilarity that you've created. Speaking for myself and the colleagues I've shared these diaries with...you will be missed. But regardless, I wish you the best of luck!

Hello all. My appointment as a successor actually came as a side note from something else, however I intend to do all that I can to live up, that being said, here's your newest entry.

Day 82

Dear Diary...

Tragedy has once again struck, I begin to wonder if there is any woman out there worthy for a samurai. It was late in the evening, I was lying in peaceful repose, being lulled by Astos' voice, telling me of the latest Kenshin episode, and my nurse stepped in to usher Astos out, saying that visiting hours were over. Then, as always she stepped out to move on to another patients room and Astos leaned in to kiss me on the head, as he always does. But the woman, apperantly, forgot her writing pad and came back in to get it, witnessing Astos' tender goodbye. Since then she has said nothing to me not riddled with comments too derisive for your sacred pages.

What is so hard for today's women to understand about the sacred relationship of a Samurai master and his apprentice? I tried to tell her that in japan it is not uncommon for a master to take his closest student as a companion. Knowing that her disgust was merely to mask her disappointment I also told her, with a knowing wink in my voice, that it by no means meant that I was unavailable for a female. In order to keep her guard up, as she does not understand the samurai way yet she proceeded to call me a fag, but as she left I unleashed the most powerful Love Kiai of my life, so she would know she is forgiven.

I suppose now I know how Akira Toriyama feels when dealing with such unknowing Gaijin.

For now Diary, I rest, but I shall see you soon.

That one faltered a bit. It simply didn't have the same quality of comedic timing that comes from Shin's writing.

Well, glad everyone's enjoying so far, my apologies that it's a bit different, my speech patterns are different, something I know to work on. Other than that, you'll have a new update soon, i'd advise looking for updates in the morning, as I'll most likely be writing them at night (EST), and I'd imagine that, barring any unforseen unpleasantness, and given the state of my life at the moment that seems unlikely, I should update every couple days. Oh, and for the record, the Love Kiai is what made this journal for me when I first started reading it. So yes, love Kiai for the win.

I've been sitting back reading and enjoying and I look forward to your return E.R. Give me a call when you get home. As for the replacement writer, not the same but an adequate choice indeed. As a faithful follower of the Danzig-Ryu I will continue to read on and enjoy in your absence, but long for your return.
