I missed the KC throwdown on account of not even being registered on the site yet, but I'd like to jump into one, and I see I'm situated next to some of the site's more prolific attendees of throwdowns.
So why not STL? I mean, from what I can see, a bunch of folks are in range. I'll even set it up (not that I know how, you gotta lemme know what kind of facilities are needed) and arrange all that mess.
Anybody else down?

That's my job, punk. There is only one solution:
POORLY EXECUTED GONG SAU!
I demand satisfaction.
I don't know where to host it--that's our main problem. I do have a mini-DV video camera and tripod I can bring.
I'd say we need a place that will let us roll and spar MMA style. At minimum, we need mat space and a place whose insurance covers groups getting together to spar. Some of these guys might want a ring or a cage, but those are luxuries.
If their insurance doesn't cover us, they're going to turn us down flat, as they should.
Locker rooms and showers would be nice so we could clean up and get some dinner or something afterward.
Let's figure out a venue, then a date. Depending on the date, I might trick my wife into getting a hotel room in STL.
Saturdays let people travel on Friday night if they want to come from farther away. STL is only about an hour and a half for me.
No promises, but I might be able to make this.

There's our "senior member."
Let's find a venue!

There's got to be something. I'm here in STL, so let me look around a bit, and I'll come back with some info.

Unless Gold's Gym is some sort of bullshido faux pas, I think they might be able to hook us up. The gym director seemed favorable towards the idea, and I'm working the issue with her right now. This gold's gym has a large padded ggx room that a martial arts class is alrady run out of, so hopefully that's good enough for a throwdown.
She did ask me a few questions, though, and I wasn't sure how to answer them.
1. Would this "event" be open to the public to watch?
2. Can gold's gym advertise that this event is open to the public to watch/participate?
Yah... I couldn't really say, because I've never hosted.
Here's the gym. It's about 20 min east of downtown STL.

If something happens...I'll be there!!!
I always wondered why there weren't more members, and possible THROWDOWNS® in St. Louis...it seems perfect from my vantage point. KC crew...Chicago crew...Backfist Monkey...wagamichi...Evansville Crew (if ItOnlyHurtsOnce and I can be concidered a crew...tee hee)
Upon further review...5 hours from Chicago might be a bit far for those yahoos. tee hee.
