I've had bacne for a few years now. Never really cared before, but suddeny something just told me to get rid of it because it's fuggin nasty. What you do MMA riod monsters do? I tried some of the body wash stuff (I don't even know what it was really, just said anti-acne body wash) and it wasn't too good.
It's not really bad, so I doubt I have to go see a dermatologist to get a perscription. My face is pretty clean, too. But I want it to be perfect.
A derm might be a good option, don't rule it out.
I'd go to the dermatologist if I were you and wanted it that badly.

You guys aren't even trying!
Like I said, I only tried one shitty product, and it's not that bad to begin with. It's more of an OCD thing.
It'll likely be a feminine product, so I have to know what I need, rush in there, push down an old lady, grab it, and run.
i have a similar problem, on my shoulder blades. little patches of it that just wont go away. might have to bust a move over to the doctor because its starting to get annoying

I have ridiculous bacne. I think it has to do with high testosterone levels and also due to the fact that I sweat a ton.
Over the counter products just kinda suck dude, hence the derm.

Yeah, it is the shoulders. It sucks even more that being on my back in BJJ kinda pushes the zits in and ugh... it gets worse, is all.
I'll have to find out if my insurance covers it, first.

Does testosterone also cause a forest to grow on your legs? If so, then that's probably why for me, too.
i also sweat a lot.

Oh!I don't know.Try growing into a man first.
Is it better than it used to be or getting worse?
I had horrible back acne, mostly cysts, still get the occasional cyst every month or so and I usualy run one at a time. I have alot of 'scars' I guess, but it's the back so it doesn't matter, all the freckling from too much sun helps hide it pretty well.
I went to dermo when I was a teenager and tried most everything perscription short of accutane (too much work considering my face never got very bad at all, just back). The antibiotics they gave me first tetracycline and then some other similar one, the tetra esp will **** with you digestion, did to mine anyway. Retin-A, which is a topical cream, has been my best friend for bacne and I still have tubes I use for incidental zits to this day, even though it's been probably three years since I've seen a dermo (tubes last awhile, get as many as you can). None of the antiboitics worked, although I completed all the perscriptions before I quit 'em.
The Retin-A stuff is supposedly pretty bad for your skin and I didn't use it on my face really, and definately not in the way perscribed. Like alot of acne medication, it will dry the **** out of your skin. Also, Retin-A works by increasing skin cell production (I think) and will turn your skin major fucking red, esp if its clean and somewhat damp when you apply it. Yet, it will heal acne in quick time, esp the large cysts, which can take a long time to heal on their own. I recommend just putting it on the cyst themselves, not all over as it will only serve as irritation. Use this **** for damage control.
As for the over-the-counter, don't fall for all the marketing bullshit. There is so much of the same crap out there, same basic medications (salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide) different 'botanicals' and other bullshit 'methods'. I would suggest salicylic acid in general, but esp for back. I had alot more success with it and it also, in general, seems to be less irritating to skin.
Number one cure I used though, beside good regimin of saliylic acid+non-comedogenic moisterizer+Retin-A for spots, was sun. Back is super easy place to tan. Do it. My bacne never really 'went away' (according to dermos, it's hardest to get rid of), but it's been well under control for a long time. The areas it crops up in now are the lower back and places that get less sun. Any dermotologist will basically tell you that the sun is fucking evil and that UV is horrible and never go outside without SPF50 until after 5pm. PLUS, alot of the acne medications will say 'AVOID SUNLIGHT', common thing for antibiotics, but in the cas of Retin-A I think it's the action of the drug that messes up cell division itself and heightens chance of skin cancer. Whatever, sun is healthy. Get outside
EDIT: I should note that I had about a year of no acne from senior HS to beginning of college, I started getting acne on my back again and the also chest after starting BJJ.

Grab some Dial soap. No ****, I used to have the worst acne problems, then I used Dial (the good old fashioned yellow kind) and BAM, no more acne.

My hair is growing back amazingly fast, at the moment I'm sporting the 'American History X' look, which is a big hit with the ladies.
