Here's a vid of me going at it with some of our guys in Pittsburgh for those that asked to see me do what I do. Mind you, I'm not going at them hard and heavy, just letting them get a taste of what they WILL be able to do later.

coming from a boxing view, there seems to be little foot movement , is that a kenpo thing or just that you are sparring lightly?

I usually move because of two reasons.

1) I'm pressing my opponent (people moving backwards usually have trouble shooting on me or hitting me.
2) I'm getting pressed backwards and I need to move off the line an attempt to press the action more.

I love how you stuck your hand in the guys face in the middle of there stuff, and when you blocked their punches by just raising your arm.

To be honest they look like typical semi-contact sorts - some of the punches they threw at you had absolutely zero ummppphhh to them. If I where you viewing that vid I'd be thinking "nice take downs, could have been a little bit tighter on the groundwork and should keep my guard up in future".

Those guys would get demolished by an average kickboxer.

Hmmn, true.

All I'm going to say is Clyde attended the Vegas Mega a few years ago and was by all reports:

1) A Machine
2) Quite capable of kicking at least 95% of the asses on this board. He as "teh real" Kenpo.

He isn't going balls to the wall in this video so I'm finding the criticism rather amusing. Feel free to post your vids and we'll compare. =)

Clyde your side stance has always annoyed me and it never seems to be exploited by your sparring partners. Is it because of the skill difference or because Ken/mpo doesn't train to exploit that particualr weakness?

I'm going to rot in Hell for saying this. Clyde I know you're holding back-- rediculously so by appearances, but when I watch you all that comes to mind is Steven Seagal. Don't be Steven Seagal. Otherwise nifty vid, but what's with the guy in the white gi?

You really remind me of another Kempo fellow I knew long ago , Shihan Stover a Shaolin Kempo Karate guy ... who strangely enough ... loved to throw hands and encouraged cross-training and hard contact .
