This may be a stupid question, but I am curious to know if Australia can legally have a throwdown. The reason I ask is because I haven't ever seen an Australian throwdown thread and was wondering if there is some sort of legal restriction disallowing a throwdown or are we all soft?

Feedback is appreciated,

Panda

I don't know if there is any legal restriction in AUstralia, if so it's proabably a state by state thing. But then again, it may just be because you're all soft.... :occasion1

I'll try to answer this seriously. There should not be any laws in Australia against throwdowns.Since there are already Kickboxing , boxing and I know I've seen MMA events.

I think the reason why you haven't seen any throwdowns in your country is because you're all fags.

Hell, that's just not gonna do.

I would love to get one started, problem is I don't know how many people would be interested stepping out of their respected training areas here, people tend to be a little sheltered this side of the globe.

I live in Sydney so that is where I would organise the throwdown if I can get some numbers. If anyone in Sydney is interested either PM me or send a post on this thread...

And if by some wierd reason nobody posts...then I am in the wrong country.

Cheers,

Panda

I'd glady attend one. I'm in WA, however.

Well, at least we aren't all soft. :occasion1

Unfortuneatly I don't have the money or time to go to WA and my guess is neither do you...so unless you or I have some sort of miraculous teleporter we are outta luck.

Maybe if you get enough WA guys interested in one you could organise something over there, time will tell.

There's the problem why no one has an Australian throwdowns is becuase its so fucking huge and no one wants to travel 2 days by car or pay money to fly anywhere.

Hey, not all aussies are fags,... just the ones from sydney.

And throwdowns are perfectly legal in australia as long as you dont talk about them.

Well they're trying to ban boxing here, at least in this state... but at any given time there always seems to be someone somewhere trying to get boxing banned, so this may not be anything with any real traction. As far as throwdowns go, who cares? Just a private group getting together to train, spar and share ideas

namaste.

There are a few W.A members on here. And it was on bullshido I managed to get a few contatcs of people who 'did' have weekly throwdowns. There may still be an oppurtunity with some guys down at the river near U.W.A. I will be emailing them shortly to see whats going on.

I am still looking for people to spar with with. I do BJJ and I don't get to train on any striking, so I am looking for Boxing, Kick boxing partners. I have all the gear just no where to train lol (incidently no I can't afford two gyms at the moment)

My brother and I tried to get a group togther to hire out local communtiy halls each week to have "mini throwdown" but also just train. It didn't happen because too many soft cocks had too many excuses.

Anyway I'll message you my email and maybe we can help each other, I will give you any info I get, and it would be great if you could do the same.

Cheers

I would be in for a throwdown. I know there was a thread and some throwdowns organised in Sydney a little while ago but I was unable to go back then.

Anything being organised yet?

Organising a place of training isnt a problem for me, I can get a proper padded room whenever. The problem is finding the numbers, the hire for the room is $15 an hour which isn't a problem but it would be silly to rent it out if only 3 people came along, so until we have about 5 or 6 people interested I won't be organising anything. And plus I have exams on until the 26th so I won't have much else to think about for a little.

Good to see there is some interest in a throwdown in Sydney, be good to get one up and going.

Well let's hope we can get some more people. You can count me in for most weekends except for 8th and 9th of July.

Gateqway,

That would be me :evil6:.

We can talk about it in class tonight, the more people I can get organised the better.
