Depends. Both limbs are never exactly of the same strenght. Sometimes I may do a few more reps with my left arm when doing bicep curls to compensate, for example.
Also, somewhere (can't remember where, but I'll find the reference[s]), I read that it's a good think to work with slightly assymetrical weights (as long as you work both sides equally after the sets)
The idea is to force your body to remain balanced while responding to the instability of the assymetrical weights. In doing so, your body must use a lot more muscles to retain stability. The concept is similar to exercising with a stability ball... that would be my guess :eusa_thin
Dude, way to complicate things.
No wonder bao is so comfused.

Seriously though. I can always get an extra three to four reps with my left arm when doing regular bicep curls to failure than with my right arm. If I do hammer curls, both arms are even in strenght... weird ****.
I actually thing I read about the assymetrical weights in either "IronMan" or "Muscle & Fitness" (I have to find the reference, though) - I've never actually done it other than with bicep curls. As you said, it's too complicated, and there are only 24 hours in a day :toothy11:

^^ I'm googling for any references to assymetrical or uneven weights exercises, and I come accross to an article titled "Penile weight-lifting damage causes pain and penile curvature for no sexual orgasm". I mean, what the ****? Who the hell is going to lift a weight with his "taco"? This planet is full of weirdos. :5dunce:

I still think it's probably like my situation, you just don't have enough weights of one kind so you have to compensate.

Aye, I mean, if one was to do everything that "would be good" to do at training, you'd need 25 hour dyas to workout!

It's not like he doesn't have money to buy a couple of plates.
Anyway, if the weight is the same, but the... "shape" is asymentrial, is there any difference? Significative difference, I mean.

Certain yoguis in India perfomr such tricks.
Think of them as the ancestors of the Saholin monks who perfom acrobatis and breakings and the such.
I could google images (I've seen even videos of that), but for some reason I beleive you'll appreciate if I don't.

It'd be a little awkward, which could just be the point.

The reference i've seen in Men's Health says that if you lift assymetrically, it causes greater response from the nervous system because it's an unconventional lift. It was recommended after you've hit a plateau doing standard lifts and need to do modified lifts to get your muscles to keep responding and keep making gains.
