Um...maybe I'm missing something but I never use protection when doing focus mitt training. I usually use Thai pads, but I like to work some focus mitt work every once in a while. If you mean protecting the wrist, then perhaps I just have strong wrists, but if you mean worrying about cutting my hands, then it's something I never lost sleep over. The only time I ever wrap my hands while training is when I go work the heavy bag...those fuckers hurt.

No, no, Kempo. I mean they. These people in the clip don't know what the crap they are doing. Asking that type of people to punch at focus mitts, however sloppy the punches may be, without asking them to wear some sort of protection, that's a crime. These people are really out of shape, and I doubt they have any conditioning in their fists, wrists or forearms. All it would take for any of those pple is to throw a bad punch and have his/her wrist rolled in... snappy, snappy, snap!!!
