View Full Version : MAP Video Thread

You have to admit there are a few individuals over at MAP on the Supporting Members forums who are trying to rally support for a wikipedia edit war though. I've seen the threads, despite having my account and/or IP address throttled. You'll also note, the Mods have adamently told those posters that they should not do it (you might have even seen the discussion referred to as "unspeakably stupid") and that MAP in no way supports that activity. Much the same way as your statements on Bullshido reminding its member's that they shouldn't intentionally troll MAP. We can't be held responsibile for those users and we don't support that activity.

Further, since yesterday there has been a official statement that MAP mods, TMs, and GMs will not touch the Bullshido Wiki.

In regards to server lags at MAP and miserable user hacks - look, we're not doing them. All of the mods have suffered through slow lags as well. We're having hosting problems and are working to resolve them. I'm a MAP supporting member and I recently got the "you should become a supporting member to eliminate this lag" message. We are in the process of an upgrade to nip some of these issues in the bud. (BTW I also occaisionally have the same problems with Bullshido).

I feel strongly enough about this that if it turns out that we are miserable user hacking bullshido members, you can officially brand my account with what ever "liar" designation you want (a la Hannibal).

- MattMatt, either some kind of hack is in place or you have a bug. If I go to MAP without logging in it displays the news page, if I log in I get the supporting members/bandwidth exceeded page. I've just done this several times in a row to be sure.

Its a bug. I'll keep checking into it. Like I said, I'm getting the same message (we've also been generating some server errors - the dreaded "white page of DB text").

Look, let me put it this way - this is the most scruitney MAP has been under in recent memory. If we were hacking users and all of the Mods are saying we are not -- the truth always comes out. It would be unspeakably stupid for us to be doing that and we'd lose any credibility our showing up here and answering questions has afforded us.

We've nipped Wiki issues in the bud. We're doing our best to answer questions. Miserable Hacking users and lying about it would be counter to everything else we've been doing.

And lets face it, sometimes folks jump to conclusions that don't always match the facts when they get sorted out.

Update: I believe Pointy Shiny is going to work with me to look into this using his ID on MAP.

I sure do hope that this is the third time (or more) that you're stating this, because to reiterate means that you're going to "re" iterate a point. And to iterate a point, is to repeat it a second time, and as such, to reiterate a point would be to repeat it the third or fourth or whatever time.

re·it·er·ate

v : to say, state, or perform again; "She kept reiterating her request" [syn: repeat, ingeminate, iterate, restate, retell]

it·er·ate

v : to say, state, or perform again; "She kept reiterating her request" [syn: repeat, reiterate, ingeminate, restate, retell]

Notice the virtually identical definitions, and they're listed as synonyms. Iterate can be used to say someone repeted something once. Reiterate can be used for the same purpose, but also to say multiple repititions. It's a strange word like that.

ahahahaha! No MAP Bashing? Wow, then I suppose what I was posting "could" have been construed that way if the MOD wanted to, even though all I was asking was what and why those guys were teaching what they were at the MAP Meet.

And DerAus. you planning on bringing the truth that TKD sucks to the masses?

Does anybody know why Andy Murray is so mentally unstable? I know a couple of reasons, but he's like Gollum, sneaking around causing trouble with a bitterness that cannot come from simply disliking the way Bullshido does things.

As to the whole 'miserable user' thing, I PM'ed Matt my MAP login and he's confirmed that there is some kind of problem. He and a highly trained army of investigative rodents are looking into it now.

@Matt B/Lord Asia/ other mod-types

Did anything ever come of the discussion about a MAP-Bullshido gathering? I still think it would be a good idea and was wondering if anything is going on about it.

(I think I've read the entire thread, but the thread is 90+ pages now, so I might have missed a previous post about this)
