Is this sort of thing at all common in Australia? I can't make sense of what happened. I'm assming that it had to be planned before hand, because they'd have needed tickets for the 20 or 30 bikers to get in. Why would those guys decide to attack in the middle of 1600 people in an enclosed space. I always assumed that guns at close quarters and a lot of people in between was problematic for the shooters. Would someone more proficient in combat tactics or familiar with guns explain to me if it makes any sense for the bikers to have chosen that place for the battle?

They are untouchable like all gangs and its probably the only type of place they can all go where the security guards are not on their payroll. Over here Islanders (ie: Maoris, Samoans, etc) are the best guards for these events because they are the biggest and take no ****, so all the ethnic and crime gangs keep quiet down around them. I've been told about one that grew up in N.Z. fighting bikies as a teenager!

But, anyone who talks they can find, because they have the right to face their accuser in court. The Hells Angels, Finks, Gypsy Jokers and Rebels have been going at it for a few years now. At least they sort of only attack each other. Except at a club where 60 turned up in a bus and axe handled anyone in sight. Or a pub where another group decided to break the legs of anyone dumb enough not to run away. I've got to hand it to them. They have realised that to get control and ownership of a place, they just have to turn up and drink there. Everyone else leaves, profits go down and the boss will eventually sell to them.

And they are criminals, not soldiers, so they dont think about tactics. Or honour for that matter. A fight got stopped a few months ago because it was too one sided. Unfortunately the losing man was a full member of a gang. The gang bashed the ref after the meet.
