Hmm, good question. Will revise shortly. The intent is to avoid having people show up in Redman suits or full plate armor, and expecting to get a fist award.

What if someone wanted to organize a "weapons throwdown" or "cross training" event?

Has anyone ever been able to do that here? Or is it just a non-issue?

I know there are more difficulties doing that than unarmed sparring, but so long as everyone's equipment is set at a minimum and you have a ref (and waivers) you might be able to pull it off.

Would probably give a fist to someone who's got video of them at a Dog Brothers gathering.

i believe we have footage of poidog at a gathering (getting his ass beat as he pointed out, but still fist worthy for sure.)

Yeah, but I want us (someone not me) to build a list of everyone who has the fist, why, and a link to the video, before we add more people.

Do fists expire?

I think we took them off.

AKA no one uses them anymore or I was deemed unworthy?

You can have a ten-sided die.

w00t!

Explain to me what I have to provide to get my Throwdown fist, as I done plenty of MMA sparring at MD throwndown. Who would I have to send to evidence to?

Provide I suck in the evidence, but its the only ones I have of me MMA sparring. Wait didn't MaverickZ post a video on youtube of him kicking my ass? Let me see if I can find it.

Edit: Looks like its not on youtube anymore.

Eh, I have a question. Whenever I train, I wear a shoulder pad, you know the kind of pad made in some foamy material that's really warm and helps against pain and all that. That's cause I have a bum shoulder. Should I wear this to a TD, would I be uneligible for a fist? Cause it's not listed in whats allowed... (first post of this thread.)

I am looking for some workout/ fighting drills. I workout with a few friends, in a basement w/ make shift flooring. We meet once a week, and practice/spar in different situations. Any serious tips here?

You should post your question in this forum (http://www.bullshido.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=64)

And you should get some experience from a qualified martial arts instructor before messing around and teaching yourself how to do things the wrong way.

I'm not sure if you could have picked a more random place to post this

Be silent, n00b. Your kind is not to question people who fight.

Now, now, if MartialStudant wants to come to an Illinois Throwdown, he/she's more than welcome. We have 'em in Chicago and the St. Louis area at present and there are two coming up in Paducah, KY and Indianapolis as well. Throwdowns abound.

This time, however, I will not be volunteering to drive the troll to the Throwdown. Get your own ride.

Of course, none of that has anything to do with this thread.
