Congratulations Kat. Solid performance.

See Carbon? Some of us from Tx. are not threatened by women. Kat would destroy me in a standup fight. Strangely enough, despite this fact, I am not threatened by her, but then again, I'm not the kind of guy who picks internet fights with women.

The video didn't do justice to your opponent's size.
Holy ****. At least the height advantage was eased by your fighting downhill the whole time.

I just watched that fight.

Yayyyyyyyy!!!! KAT!!! YOU ROCK!!!!!

Are you 2 in the same weight class because you have solid muscle and a titanium endoskeleton? Cuz she looks like she'd outweigh you by 150-200#

Hyper-alloy combat chassis, fully armored, very tough. (not that anyone has hit it yet)

Good luck wih your next fight anyway Kat.

But look I have something I've been meaningto ask. Leading up to a fight, whats your training routine ? Run in the morning, Muay Thai training in the evenings ? Please share.

eating lots of ice cream, corn dogs, and hamburgers. Sitting around on the internet all day. Repeat as necessary.

hahahaha, yeh that pretty much sums it up. I've been eating pretty shitty lately.
My biggest training change will likely be dietary as I am sitting at 165 right now but will be fighting at 155 for the next few fights. I'll have to drastically up my water intake to about a gallon or more a day, and cut down on all the junk food. This should help me get down to about 158ishd then I do some sauna suit stuff to do the rest. As far as actual fight training goes, i train every day alreadyso i dont really change anything there. Lately i come in and do a lot of sparring or alive drills, work the bags, etc, dont really do striking class so much as of late because i already know all the **** they're teaching and i get more out of sparring.

For these upcoming fights i think i am going to cut back on standip training, which has been my primary focus for several months and do a lot of ground work since it's my weakest area. (Not that i am bad on the ground, i'm not, but i'm not really good either compared to like a good blue belt or better.

I have to gain 10lbs for my next fight, so I've been giving in to the horrible urge to eat all the horrible (wonderful) junk food mentioned. I'll probably bring my weight up to around 142 or so, then drink a bunch of powerade the day of my fight.

At the moment I've been training with USA vs Canada in mind, since that will probably be my next muay thai thing. Been doing a ton of clinch sparring and trying to work on upper body throws, working in more clinch work in my normal sparring. Thankfully, our good tomato can buddy Igor is back in the gym (he's been away for a few months) so I'll have a chance to really work on things I don't get to work so much when sparring with Kat (she's kinda too big and good for me to work on certain things as much as I need to, and Igor is about my size and not very good). I will, of course, continue sparring with Kat regularly, but having a human punching bag to spar with I believe will be helpful to my training aswell.

For cardio it's my opinion that the best thing to do is just spar a whole **** load, which is what I do. It'd probably help if I did more roadwork, which I intend to do at some point, but at the moment I'm lazy and don't have the will power to do something I hate.

I have to agree with you on that one.

Running is good but do 5 rounds on the heavy bag followed by 5 rounds of hard contact sparring. Best cardio workout I've ever done.

I mean **** who does like running?

They have seen people who use the actually training as their cardio instead of doing outside work like jump rope/road work/weights.

They just rely soley on their training and not on anything else trying to basically reinvent the wheel. Leg work is great for you and don't think you have to be running upwards of 7 mph to be successful. Just take it slow.

I'd do it more for your legs stamina than your wind.

Anways JKDChick your post seemed outlandish to me, you look like a shitty fighter ( note the look, never said you were) and challenging a guy seems like the last bit of your worries.

I don't want to get back into the guy vs. girl thing, since we know we already discovered men are better at physical activies, but just to point it out the top woman in any weight class will never beat the top man.

You make it sound like she's a bitch. Just because she's tough doesn't make her nasty or anything. (And I'm not saying that you're accusing her of being one)
Was the promoter even a factor in the match up? I can see him saying there was a girl who needed a fight but she did know enough to go with the heavier gloves. If that was a necessary step and she was aware of it, it was irresponsible of her and her management to allow the fight to happen. (That's just MY opinion. I don't mean to come across as sounding like a know it all)

So now it's Kat's responsibility to look out for the emotional welfare of her opponents? It's on her to make sure somehow that her adversaries meet some standard of competence, and she's obligated to turn down a fight if they don't?

Pretty much. It's self preservation if you want to look at it that way. If she wins a one sided fight so easily and then people find out what's going on they're going to jump to conclusions and not give her a chance to say "Hey, wait... you don't understand"

You claim to have watched the kickboxing fight in which Kat remains fresh for the duration of the bout and physically dominates her rival and you think that she has conditioning problems? You claim to have watched her MMA fight in which she puts this beastwoman with a 200-pound advantage on her ass twice and throws a series of low kicks that sound like pistol fire when they connect, and you're criticizing her power?

Pretty much. She just has a lot of slop to her kicks and I don't see much snap to her punches. She has soft spots on her body and that's a sign that it's an area of the body not being worked. Like her lower back in the love handle area. First glance tells me she's not burning a lot of calories there and not working that area of her body. She didn't look fresh to me. She didn't have as much spring to her kicks or snap to her punches as someone her size should have. She's not a big woman.

Kat obviously trains hard and kicks correspondingly large amounts of ass. None of your bizarre and patronizing criticisms seem to be supported by any evidence.

She probably does train hard. I'm not trying to be patronizing either. I just write the way I speak for the most part. That's why I mentioned I don't mean to be offensive.

Awesome job Kat.

So if one wants to cow tip, you just punch it in the face. Got it thanks.
