There is a HGH supplement of homeopathic recombinant somatropin/somatotropin

(which is basically bacteria re-programmed into replicating themselves into an identical substance as "real" HGH), apparently good for increasing energy levels etc.
Similar to the homeopathic dhea and melatonin available.

I am unsure about the real deal though, I thought a lot of the ingredients came out of africa (im not sure if it was human or animal ingredients though).

I was under the impression that the real injectable HGH ran about $1000 for 40 IU. This stuff has the same effect?

Not nearly as potent as "real injectable HGH", the homeopathic somatropin (bacteria based) only stimulates the pititurary (or however you spell it) gland of the user into releasing its own HGH (as oposed to injecting in from the outside).

After around age 30, natural levels of HGH and dhea (hormone pre-cursor), drop dramatically , and these homeopathic products profess to maintain, and increase the levels (similar to a younger age).

Also marketed as more of an "anti-ageing drug" than a steroid.

I get so much spam about this stuff it's unreal...

One of my professors had a theory that people are bigger now because we eat meat from cows that have been injected with growth harmones.

I think it's more due to the fact that better food is available.

I don't know about other countries, but in the US, girls are entering puberty and menstrating at a much earlier age due to the hormones. I wonder what other effects this is having on people.

I don't take any supplements other than vitamins. Herbs and other supplements are not regulated like drugs are. The supplement that you are taking might not have any kind of safety screening and could end up having a severely negative effect that we won't know about for many years.

You can't make a man by standing a sheep on its hindlegs but if you get a group of men together you can create a herd of sheep.

I agree with brandeissansoo that it is more because of better food in general. People have been getting taller for centuries. If it were because of the hormones, then there should be a spike in growth in the past few decades... or whenever they started putting feeding cattle hormones.

As for the onset of menstruation, I heard that that is keyed mainly by body fat. Once a female reaches a certain percentage (and age, I guess), she will start menstruating. I have heard that some females who are hard-core marathon runners stop menstruating, because they get to such an extremely low percentage of body fat. I guess the body knows it doesn't have enough food to support another life.

So the girls are getting fatter.

(Guys are getting fatter, too. The US is just getting fat. I would guess the same is true for much of Europe and other non-third-world countries.)

WTDude, it is because of body fat and also I think you'd be hard pressed to find any statistical evidence that menustration is coming on earlier than in most of history. If you recal your shakespear, juliet was 15 and considered to be border line old maid.
