Any knife people up in this hizzle?
I'm a fan of the stiletto, 'cause it looks cool. Maybe I'll post a pic of one later.
I collect knives, and have a bit of knowledge how to fight with them. I have a stiletto as well, but it is just a small one my friend brought me back from his trip to Russia.
I also have a neat Canadian Army WW1 issue pocket knife that comes with a folding spike which was used to clean out the hooves of horses, but it could also be used as part of the weapon if aimed at soft targets.

I'm a big fan of the smatchet for field work, a big fan of the folding fighter for everyday carrying and tasks, but LOVE the Sheffield Sykes Fairbairn Commando Knife because it's so damn pretty!!!
I also am a "knife person" I make knives in my spare time (about 1-3 per year) and enjoy collecting them. I like Kris Cutlery's Pira. I would link to it but i am at work and that is a no no.
Here is a picture of my Pira before I modified the handle and sheith
I carry a folding half-serrated tanto every day, everywhere. I also have a hair brush in my pocket that has a hidden plastic spike. All my other knives, swords, and sticks are impractical to carry.
EDC = Spyderco Delica 4 (brand new design is just phenomenal) or Ken Onion Leek in Black Ti-Oxide.
Bard of DorAr
I have quite a few, mostly for decoration or for utility. Might know some about using em, but they're never the first thing I think of in a fight. A truncheon works a bit better in the long run and isn't quite as quick to lead to serious injury or a potential fatality as a sharp object is.
Might I ask your overall goal with the thread though? General knife talk is all well, but it's always better if there's an actual goal.
I am a certified knife combatives instructor under PFS and i LOVE KNIVES
my favorite carry knife is my cold steel spike....nothin fancy but it will cut anything you put in front of it
I currently carry a CRKT Longs Peak. It's a nice little tac folder without a serrated edge (I'm not a fan of them because, although they cut better, they're hard to sharpen). It's also got a dual lock feature so that there is no possibility of the blade closing in on your fingers.
Of course, if we're talking about favorite knives, I'll always swear by my Ka-Bar. Those leathernecks really know how to design a knife.
My "every day" - Cold Steel Vaquero (large)
If you like knives, check out the site in my profile page for some awesome hand-made Filipino stuff.
I carry a CRKT bear claw, only I've been tampering with the sheath. (http://www.angelfire.com/ex/chaoticdarkness/bc.html) I still need to fix a few things before I'm done but I like it better now, it's safer and cuicker to draw.
I have a few. Carry a Buck folder with me most places, handy little sucker and you never know when you're gonna need one. Keep a Gerber multitool in the car and one in the bedroom, useful little suckers. The rest are big boys, can't carry em around in public: SOG SEAL 2000, "Big Buck" (as I call him, basically a big sheath Buck), Arkansas Toothpick (mostly for fun), a Spyderco folder or two, Buck Strider folding tanto, and an Iraqi bayonet.
What I really want is one of these.
*drools* Can we say "costs a pretty penny", though? :(

Wow, that's nice. Makes the Cold steel Tanto I want look kinda lame in comparison.

Uh....when i tried to click the online order form or the 'master price sheet' I got the ol' 404.
How much is that bad boy?
I used to carry the vaquero grande, but I guess I live in one of those "non permissive envionments" or whatever you want to call it, so I've been looking into smaller blades. The bear claw is just fine, but the most concealable blade I've seen (that still seems to be enough blade for the task) is This one. (http://www.hideawayknife.com) Anyone tried them?
Now if I thought I'd be using the blade mostly for dispatching onrushing marauders I'd carry a punch dagger or something, but the biggest threat I usually face on a day to day basis tends to be something along the lines of EVIL wrapping and packanging, and EVIL tape and EVIL stuff that needs cutting (or will result in endless frustration :mumum: )
